08/19/22 WE ARE CATCHING BIG FISH!
August the 19th had the best day so far this summer. My customer and I boated 114 fish in 5 hours. I have been on a great bite all summer and we are catching big fish, not just little ones. The fish are deep and there is schooling activity.
The bigger fish are coming out of the deeper water. I am catching my fish on Jigs and 10" worms.

08/08/22 THE LAKE IS ON FIRE! LET'S GO FISHING!
LAH is on fire! The fishing does not get any better. Numbers are great and the Big Girls are on the prowl. If you are not catching 50 fish a day you're having a bad day. Caught another monster at 12.60 lbs. The fish are deep. I am catching my fish on Jigs, Spoons and 10" power worms. All of our fish are coming out of 25 to 40 ft of water, and they are stacked up, on sloping ledges next to 50 to 60 ft of water. Give us a call and we will put you on the fish. Congratulations Marty on your Personal Best 12.80! I am on a giant bite, big ones and numbers catching 50 to 100 a day. 07/10/22 CRAZY BITE!!
CRAZY BITE! Full moon equals shad spawn and bluegill spawn.
I'm catching 50 to 70 fish a day in less than 6 hours.
I am also catching a lot of real nice Black bass.
I'm catching all of my fish on Topwaters and 10" Berkley Power worms.

06/26/22 THE FISH ARE REALLY ACTIVE
Summertime bite is fast and furious. I am catching great numbers and quality big fish. Catching my fish on top waters, the Kraken and jigs. The fish are schooling and the shad and the bluegill are spawning. The fish are really active. As of today we have a cooling front Thank You Lord! The temp is supposed to be in the 80's all week. 05/29/22 THE FISH ARE BITING LIKE CRAZY!
I have not written a report in a while, I have been very busy The Fish are biting like crazy, I am catching my fish on Top Waters, Flukes and Football Head jigs. The water is in great shape and this blows my mind, the water temp is 72 degrees, it should be 80. We still have fish spawning. I am booking for June, maybe the damn wind will stop blowing. 05/27/22 LAKE WILL STABILIZED IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS

05/22/22 TOP WATER & WORMS
I fished with Craig and Blake Moore of Lubbock on May 16th. Blake has really been a big help to me when I needed help working on my boat. We caught 38 bass on top waters and worms. It was a great day to spend on the lake with such good friends.
I fished with Cathy and Gerald Caulder of Midland on 5-21. We had a strong northerly wind which lasted all day. We had on heavy coats when we started before sunup that morning, and it finally warmed up a litter when the sun came out. We caught 30 bass on top water and worms. Cathy was the top water fisherwoman, and Gerald was the worm fisherman.

05/11/22 CRAPPIE ARE BITING!
Fished with Julie, Justin and John today. Fished with their brother Jason last week. They are all great kids and really good fisherman. They caught about 50 crappie and Justin Caught a 4.5# black. 05/09/22 FISHING IN APRIL
I am behind on fishing reports because my computer has been down for several days, but I am ready to catch up.
The week of the April 11th through the 16th I fished with my cousin, Cletis, on the 12th using crank baits and blue worms. This was one of the windiest days we have had this year. The weather person said we had wind gust up to 57 mph. This didn’t stop us from having a great day. We caught 39 spotted bass.
I fished with John and Chaney Coffman on the 15th, and we caught 13 on worms. They were fairly new at worm fishing, but I thought they did well learning a fairly new fishing method. This was Chaney’s second trip with me this year.
I fished with Steve and Lucus Gardner on the 16th, and we caught 30 spotted bass on worms. Some were fairly nice.
The week of the 18th through the 23rd I fished with Layne Stanford on the 20th. We caught 31 all on blue worms. A bunch of on the small side spotted bass.
On the 21st, I fished with Cleve, Neal, and Cleve’s young son, Case. We caught 20 bass while teaching them to fish plastic worms. Even Case caught a couple all by himself.
On the 23rd I fished with Terry Welch and Jared Dyck. We caught 30 bass on worms and spinner baits. Most were caught on the blue worm.
The week of the 25th through the 30th of April I fished 4 straight days.
On the 26th and the 27th, I fished with Corky Hernandez of Colorado, and John Lackey of New Mexico. In the two days we fished, we caught 41 bass all on blue
worms. These two fished with me last year.
On the 28th and 29th, I fished with Abe Acosta of Midland, and Curly Ukzedo of Carlsbad, NM, formally of Brazil. In two days of fishing, we caught 52 bass all on worms with the largest spotted bass going about 3 pounds. On these two days, we really had some quality spotted bass with several going over two pounds.
I was proud to have all of these fishermen in my boat. They all made it a joy to be on the water with them.

04/24/22 I'VE NEVER SEEN THE SPAWN SO LATE. THE LAKE IS FINALLY STABILIZING.
I fished 3 days this week in horrible 20 to 50 MPH winds, but in 3 days of fishing we boated over 100 fish. Our fish are late this year and the spawn is going to last through June. Right now in May we have all 3 stages of the spawn, pre-spawn, spawn and post spawn. I have never seen the spawn so late. It is Just the damn wind. It blows th surface temp off and then the cold fronts. The lake is finally stabilizing. I have 4 days left in May to book, let's go catch the big ones. I am also guiding on lake Thomas for Trophy fish. The people I had in the boat this week had never caught fish on plastics, I taught them what the bite was and how to fish the bait. 04/19/22 CAUGHT 30 BASS ON WORMS
I fished three days last week. I fished with my cousin, Cletis, on April 12th, and we caught 39 bass. I fished with Chaney and John Coffman on the 15th. We caught 13 bass on worms. I fished with Steve and Lucas on the 16th, and we caught 30 bass on worms. All of the bass were caught on blue worms except 2 that were caught on crank baits. Out of the three days, we cleaned 22 spotted bass. On Tuesday the spotted bass ran larger than the other days. Several of the 39 bass were in the 2 to 2 1\2 pound range.

04/07/22 THE BITE IS ON BIG TIME!
The bite is on big time, the fish are in pre-spawn and the magnum spots are on the prowl and hungry. The black bass are right behind them. It is prime time. This bite will last all the way through June. We are about 3 weeks behind where we should be, due to cold front after cold front and horrible high winds. the wind blows the surface temp off the water and it takes longer for the lake to warm up. I am catching 30 to 60 fish a day and it will just get better. Topwaters should kick in soon. I am catching my fish on Sinkos, swim jigs and spinnerbaits. 03/29/22 THESE LAST FEW WARM DAYS SHOULD REALLY TURN THE BASS ON
I fished 4 days over the last week. I fished with Chris, Amanda, and Lucas Self of Kansas on a day the wind blew over 40 mph. It was hard to ever find a place to get out of the wind. I fished with Chaney Coffman, Tanner, and Will of the Midland-Odessa area with the fishing fair for a short day. It was a fairly pretty day with the wind out of the North. I then fished with Bill and Paul Fricke on Seminole with a light wind still out of the North. This is the day we found water temp to be around 54 degrees. I also fished with my cousin, Cletis one day when it was a very nice day. We caught bass every day. Some of the days were good, and one not so good which was when the wind was over 40 mph. These 4 days only produces around a total of 30 bass. In these 4 days we had water temp 48 to 54 degrees. These last few warm days should really turn the bass on. We were catching bass on crank baits, worms, and jigs.

Water temp finally hit 55 degrees and is heading into the 60's. We needed this bad

I have had 3 customers that have lost giant fish. This week they are coming in the boat!!
I am catching my fish on swim jigs, spinner baits and sinko's. I am dragging a 10" worm.
We have been about a month behind as far as the lake goes, it is just the weather.
They have moved up 5 to 25' is where the best bite is.
I have 6 days open for April and I have hired a back up guide.
We can offer you 2 boats and we can get you on the water.

03/05/22 CATCHING FISH IN THE WARMER WATER
I fished with my brother, Boyd, and my cousin, Cletis, on 3-3-22. I was a beautiful day to be on the water. We caught 20 bass on crank baits. We found the water temp to be 47 to 53 degrees. The fish we caught were in the warmer water.

02/21/22 WATER TEMP 47-48 DEGREES
I fished with my cousin, Cletis Clayton, on 2-21-22. We caught 14 bass on crank baits. Nothing very big. The water temperature was 47-48 degrees. It was a cloudy, windy day, but fairly warm with the amount of clothes we had on.

12/03/21 THE FISHING IS STILL GREAT AT LAH!
Don't pack up your fishing gear for winter yet. The fishing is great at LAH
We caught over 75 fish last week in 2 days.
Catching my fish on spoons, football head jigs and A-Rigs. I am finding my fish with my Garmin. My garmin is helping me catch 50% more fish.
It will tell me if they are active and I can judge the size of the fish.
The water is getting colder and the fish are running in big schools.
I am catching my bigger fish on A-Rigs and they are suspended and running in small packs.

11/11/21 CONSISTENT BITE, NUMBERS ARE GREAT!
Another big fish. I am on a consistent bite of large fish and the numbers are great. This pattern is holding and next week is going to be another beautiful week. We are having a cold front coming in and passing quickly and the fish are feeding up for winter time. My Garmin has made my fishing 50% better and everytime I go out and use it I learn something new. 11/03/21 FISH ARE STARTING TO SCHOOL UP
What a great week! The fish are moving into the creeks and mid lake pockets. Numbers are great and the big girls are on the move. Now that we have had our 1st major cold front the fish are starting to school up, here is a hint if you're not catching any little fish you will not catch a big fish. I am catching my fish on swim jigs and our new Kraken, the big size. It is a square bill that will run from 10 to 15 ft depending upon your line size. I am using a 15lb test and I can see this bait moving down at 15ft on my Garmin. I am also catching fish on a Carolina rig with an 18" liter. There is a good top water bite early and late. The 8lb bass I saw on the Garmin before we caught it. If you want to check the Garmin out or want to learn how to use yours I will teach you. Next week is supposed to be a beautiful week. 10/29/21 FEED HEAVY BEFORE A COLD FRONT
Just a quick report. Fishing at LAH is great, I am catching my fish on top waters, swim jigs, spoons and our new Kraken from Bass Assets, it is the big Kraken. It is a large square bill that dives to 10'. Here is a really good tip for everybody the days right before the cold front hits the fish feed heavily.
I am catching my fish from 2' deep to 40' deep, again the grass equals Bass.
I have Monday and Tuesday open. Next week we are getting another cold front.

09/24/21 FALL FISHING IS IN FULL SWING
On the 24th I fished with Dallas Stephens. We had a great day. We caught a lot of fish and quality fish, with the biggest going 11.82 lbs. The Garmin Livescope has really been a game changer. I have caught so many big fish and I have only had it for 2 months. Everytime I go out I learn something new. Fall fishing is in full swing, and the fishing is very good. 08/28/21 THE FALL TRANSITION IS ALREADY STARTING
What a summer I caught lots of big fish. The fall transition is already starting. The water is cooling off and the days are getting shorter, and the fish know it. There has been a massive shad spawn going on at Lake Alan Henry for the past 4 months. The lake is in better shape than it has been in 4 years. I am also fishing on lake J B Thomas and catching big fish. Need to book for September and October as soon as possible. Before I book out. 08/01/21 3 YOUNG ANGLERS
I am so very proud of these 3 young anglers. All 3 of these guys are 13 years old. I can honestly say I have never fished with young teenagers that were as good of fishermen as they are. 08/01/21 WHAT A SUMMERTIME BITE!
What a summertime bite. I have been on this bite for the last 2 months. I 've got a pattern that is holding very well, it won't stop until the water temp hits below the 70's. I am catching my fish on top waters from sunup until about 10:00 then I am hitting the ledges, with football head jigs and sinko's. A lot of quality fish running from 1 lb to 5 lbs on the top waters. It is very fast action, then i start fishing deep. Congratulations to Marty Foust he's broken his personal best on LAH for the second time this year, with a 9.25 lb bass. I put a Garmin Live Scope on my boat and it is unbelievable it makes the active fish very easy to find and you can pick out the Big fish. 05/31/21 OUR LAKE IS COMPLETELY FULL!
What a blessing, all the rain our lake is completely full and all the rivers are running and water will go over the spillway. This will put current in the lake and that makes the fish bite like crazy. Our fish are shallow and the bite is great! Check out our new colors on the Kraken, I have never seen a bait look so realistic. You can get these from Bass Assets. I am fishing it 3 different ways: making a long cast and keeping the rod at 8:00, in the heavy thick brush I'm keeping my rod at 11:00 and reeling it slowly, and they smash it. We have a shad spawn going on and a bluegill spawn going on. These fish spawn every full moon which loads our lake with new bait. It's also time to drag the top water out. I have openings for June. This week we caught over 100 fish. The fish are still coming in and bedding up, I have never seen the spawn so late. Don't remember such a cold spring. Our fish are going to spawn all the way through June. I'm catching my fish from 8 to 20 ft of water, on 10" worms and sinkos. Top waters early and late. Kinda brings back memories. 04/11/21 CAUGHT 75 FISH IN 2 DAYS!!
I got to get on the water 2 times this week with Brandon Pachl and Kevin Hilton and the wind was horrible. It didn't keep the fish from biting. In 2 days of fishing we caught over 75 fish. The bite is on and the fish are hitting the beds. Water temp is 61 degrees and I'm catching my fish on 10" worms, sinko's, spinner baits and top waters. We have been about 3 weeks behind where we should be due to high winds and cold fronts. The lake is stable now and it's time to go catching. This bite will last all the way through June. 03/16/21 BIG GIRLS ARE BITING BIG TIME!!
Big girls are biting big time. What a great week, lots of quality fish and giants. I am catching my fish on swim jigs and the BassAssets thumper. We modified the bait a little bit and put a larger blade on it. It will shake the tip of your rod and the big fish love it. It calls them up and they want to take the rod out of your hand. We are packing the bait with 2 different sizes of blades, it is a unique spinner bait with a collar on it where you can change the blades very quickly, according to how deep you want it to run. 03/13/21 THE LAKE IS 82% FULL & FISHES VERY WELL AT THIS LEVEL
Great day on the water with my brother. We caught an 8.44 lb and 7.23 lb bass and a lot of 2 to 4 lb fish. 90% of the fish were black bass. We only fished 4.5 hours and our 5 biggest weighted over 25 lbs. We caught our fish on swim jigs and thumper spinner baits. The water temp is anywhere from 55 to 60 degrees depending on the time of day. I have a few days left in March and booking into April. April is prime time, we will have pre spawn and spawn. Fishing at LAH is great. The numbers and the quality are very very good. The Big girls are on the prowl. We have consistently caught Big fish. I fished with John Hand on a post cold front day. Like I said before Jig and then Jig. There is a Topwater bite early and then late. The Big girls are staged in 20 to 30 ft of water, and we are digging them out of the brush. 09/02/20 NO ONE COULD KEEP COUNT ON HOW MANY WE BOATED!
Randy Wossum and his dad haven't been bass fishing for about 3 years, these are great people and we had a very blessed day. I know we caught a minimum of 40 fish, no one could keep count of how many we really boated. We had another personal best this week. We caught our fish on Jerkbaits, Squarebills and Football head jigs. These guys learned a lot on this trip. Fishing on Alan Henry gets better by the day. Water temp is still at 81 to 82 degrees. 08/31/20 FALL FISHING IS HAPPENING NOW!
Fall fishing is happening now Our days have grown shorter and the mornings are cool. Our forecast looks good and I pray the 100 degree temps are gone.
Had a good week. This week I fished with one of my sponsors Eric, the owner of Bass Assets came out and we figured out a great pattern. My numbers are good and I am catching some quality fish. We have had a shad spawn that has been going on over a month. Thank you TP&W, they did a heavy stocking of Bluegill in our lake 2 months ago. These weren't baby Bluegill. The Bluegill are spawning and the lake is alive with schooling fish and this blows my mind.
I am catching my fish from 6 ft to 20 ft. We are having a fall spawn with our largemouth. You know this when you are catching fish with bloody tails in shallow water. I have seen this happen several times.
My shallow fish are biting Jerk Baits and Square Bills.
The schooling fish are over deep water. You need to use a Pop R and 1/2 oz Rat-A-Tat spoon. You can get these from Bass Assets. Keep it high in the water column and work it fast.
You need to book your trips for this fall because I am getting covered up. September, October and November are going to be some of the best fall fishing months we have had in years.
The grass, the Hidrilla and the Pepper Grass which TP&W planted, has taken up very well. It has changed our lake, we have needed this for a long time.
I am catching 50% blacks and 50% spots. If you are struggling to catch fish use a Jerkbait, which runs 2 to 4 foot.
When they hit it they explode on it.

The August Blues I hate the heat but the fish are biting. I had 2 customers catch their personal best this week. Chad Meeks caught his personal best spotted bass and Alina caught her personal best black bass. I am catching my fish in 20 to 35 ft of water on Jigs and my spoon that I invented, it is now on the market You can purchase these at Bass Assets on bassassets.com it is called the Rat A Tat spoon. t is very loud and that is what draws the fish in from long distances. You can cover a lot of water with this spoon. We are being very safe in the boat and wearing masks while we are riding down the lake, when we are fishing we wear our buffs. The lake is in great shape and we are going to have an outstanding fall can't wait until September, October and November. You need to book your trips in advance because I book out early each month. I will only take 2 people at a time this gives us distance. We can't go anywhere and we can't do anything but we can go fishing and get outside and watch God's Glory in the sunrise and forget about COVID. 06/16/20 THE LAKE IS IN THE BEST SHAPE IT HAS BEEN IN FOR 5 OR 6 YEARS
I fished with Zach Garcia and his brother on the 15th. I haven't been writing a lot of fishing reports or putting a lot of stuff on facebook, because of the mixed feelings about Covid. I have had a very busy spring and very busy summer. We are working and the lake is in the best shape it has been in for 5 or 6 years. Numbers are great and the quality fish are biting. Zach and his brother had never caught a bass over 1.5 lbs. We changed all of that for both of them. The fish are in 20 to 30 ft of water and there is also an early morning topwater bite. I have never seen the lake so busy. If you are going to fish, fish during the week. The fish are biting jigs better than anything. I am seeing grass growing all over the lake. Eddie Emerson, Joe Rollo and I fished yesterday morning. The fishing was great until the wind hit around 10:00. a.m. We probably caught thirty plus Spotted Bass and a couple of perch.
I don't think any of us caught a Black Bass. We kept our limits.
My wife and I had my limit for lunch today! Excellent grilled.
We are fortunate to have a nice lake close.

04/25/20 SIGHT FISHING FROM RAISED PLATFORM NOW AVAILABLE!
It has been a great 2 weeks. Numbers are outstanding and our spawn has kicked back in. It is getting better by the day. We have literally caught 100's of fish. Congratulations to my son Jerad with a 12.74 lb bass and he put a young teenager on a 9 lb bass, and I put Jeremiah Miller on a 8 lb bass. We are catching our fish on 12" worms made by NTX Custom Baits and jigs, shaky heads and big top waters. I was on the water 3 days this week, with Jimmy Echard 2 days, Guy Brockman 1 day. We Boated over 100 fish up to 6.5 lbs and Jimmy had a fish beside the boat that would weight between 10 to 12 lbs. He put to much pressure on the fish and it pulled the hook. He was so excited when he saw the fish, and made and mistake. we all make mistakes. This fish was the biggest fish he would have caught.
I am catching my fish on swim jigs, spinner baits and shaky heads. I saw fish moving up on beds today spotted bass fanning beds. I also saw some very large black bass cruising. The Spawn is on!!!

I fished with Scott, Nathan, and Austin Shortes from Lubbock and Seminole, TX on 3-20-20.
It was a very cold and windy day, but we managed to put 11 bass in the boat. Most of the
bass we caught were largemouths with only one or two spots. The only thing is that the bass
were not very large.

03/20/20 WE BOATED 73 FISH!!
3-18-2020 I fished with Tony Bryan and it was a tough day, no wind and the lake like glass. On 3-19 I fished with Ross Quarles and Daryl Kissel it was a magical day the wind was blowing 40 mph and a approaching cold front. We started catching fish on the 2nd cast the bite lasted for 9 hours we boated 73 fish with lots of magnum spots and black bass. We had 3 over 5 lbs and countless 2 lbs to 3 lbs chunks. We did not go 5 minutes without a bite or a fish in the boat. There were so many double hook ups that we could not keep count. This is the best day that I have had this year. Like I said we boated 73 fish and if we had boated every fish that bit we would have been in the hundreds. This is a heavy pre-spawn bite. We caught our fish on spinner baits and swim jigs. It was fast action and an unbelievable day these Guys were good fishermen and learned fast. Fishing just doesn't get any better. 03/17/20 CRANK BAITS & JIGS
I fished with Daryl and his son, Cutter, on 3-9-20. We had a great day on the water. Cutter caught a nearly 4 pound Spot( shown in the picture) on a jig. We caught 21 more on crank baits. Daryl and Cutter are always a great asset to have in my boat. We always have a great day. I fished with my brother, Boyd, and my cousin, Cletis, on 3-10-20. We caught bass on crank baits, but they were all small. I fished with Mark Carter on 3-14-20 right after a big storm came over the lake. Lake Alan Henry is winding up Folks! Lake is in great condition we are almost completely full. Our water temp is from 50 to 60 degrees, depending on the if the sun shines or not. I have had a real good week this week with very good numbers and quality fish. The fishing is getting better by the day, I am catching by fish on spinner baits and swim jigs. 02/16/20 FISH ARE BITING!
Fish at Lake Alan Henry are biting. I fished with John Hand and we had a good day. The fish have been biting between the cold fronts. We are catching our fish on E-Z Skip and Swim jigs. I am catching my fish in 8 to 16 ft of water. They are running in wolf packs, wherever you catch one you will catch another one. We are catching a lot of very large spots. Congratulations to you, Blake Cockrell for catching a Share Lunker. A 14.30 lb fish, it looks like we are going to have a great fishing season this year. The Toyota ShareLunker program was created in 1986 by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and provides funding for a wide variety of education, fish, parks and wildlife projects.
Lake Alan Henry has produced 28 ShareLunker entries since 2000, all of them ranging from 13 to 15 pounds.

Just days after being blanketed in snow, West Texas lake Alan Henry Reservoir produced the first Legacy Class largemouth bass entry of the 2020 Toyota ShareLunker season Feb. 9. Angler Blake Cockrell of Lubbock caught the 14.36 pound, 26.25 inch largemouth bass on a crankbait in 5-10 feet of water while targeting spotted bass on the lake.
“When I put my hands on her to lift her out of the water and land her in the boat, I was in disbelief,” Cockrell said. “I said out loud, ‘you’re something special.’ At that moment I knew this fish was bigger than anything I’ve ever caught.”
After notifying the Toyota ShareLunker program of his catch, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Inland Fisheries biologists quickly dispatched to collect and transport “ShareLunker 582” to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, where biologists will attempt to spawn her and produce bigger, better bass to stock in and enhance fishing in Texas lakes. Cockrell said loaning the fish to TPWD for the selective breeding program was important to him because he’s seen first-hand what stocking ShareLunker offspring has done for the bass fisheries in nearby lakes.
“We have a lake by us called J.B. Thomas that has been stocked with ShareLunker bass, and they are growing 3-4 pounds a year,” Cockrell said. “I’ve seen what the program has done in the past and the things it has done for people.”
Although East Texas typically produces the Toyota ShareLunker program’s first and biggest entries most years, TPWD fisheries biologists urge anglers not to sleep on West Texas as a bass fishing destination. In 2019, O.H. Ivie Reservoir near San Angelo was among the top five ShareLunker producing lakes for the year, and Alan Henry Reservoir has produced 28 ShareLunker entries ranging from 13 to 15 pounds since 2000.
“We are very excited that Alan Henry Reservoir has produced the first – and so far the biggest – Toyota ShareLunker entry of the year,” said Caleb Huber, TPWD Inland Fisheries District Supervisor for Amarillo. “This proves you shouldn’t underestimate West Texas if you want to catch the fish of a lifetime. Although our lakes are prone to fluctuating water levels and drought, increased rainfall over the last few years has greatly improved water levels and the production of larger bass, and I’m hopeful of more good things to come.”
Anglers who catch a 13 pound or larger Legacy Class bass through March 31 can enter by calling the program directly – any time of day – at (903) 681-0550.
Every angler who loans a 13 pound or larger Legacy Class bass to the Toyota ShareLunker program during the spawning period Jan. 1 to March 31 will receive a Toyota ShareLunker Catch Kit containing branded merchandise and fishing tackle items, a 13lb+ Legacy decal, VIP access to awards programming at the Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest, a replica of their fish, and an entry into the year-end ShareLunker Prize Drawing to win a $5,000 shopping spree and an annual fishing license. These anglers will also be entered into the Legacy Class Prize Drawing for a $5,000 shopping spree and an annual fishing license at the end of the spawning period March 31.

10/02/19 TWO BASS FISHING TRIPS
I recently had two trips fishing for bass at Alan Henry. On 9-21-19 I fished with Lisa Huntoon
and Richard Meyer of Odessa. This was a birthday gift for Richard. We caught more than 20
bass with all but one being caught on top water lures. Richard caught the largest with it going
nearly 4 lbs. We had a couple more nice bass.
On 10-1-19, my wifes birthday, I fished with Wes Mayfield of Odessa, and Brian Laughlin of
Andrews. We caught 15 to 17 bass with the most being on top water lures, and the rest on
crank baits. One was caught on a worm. We had to really look for places we could fish top
waters because the wind really blew all day.

09/07/19 THE FALL BITE IS HERE!
Well folks it is that time of year. The days are getting shorter and the mornings are nice and cool. Every thing from the deep and dark is coming up and feeding. The fall bite is here, early morning Top Waters and the Rat A Tat Flutter spoon.
My favorite spoon colors are Natural Shad which has black and silver, and we have a new Sexy Shad that is a blue chrome with a touch of chartreuse and a little orange on the throat. We have the spoons in 1 oz and 1/2 oz. I put a 1/2 oz on one rod and a 1 oz on another rod. They are very noisy and will draw up fish from long distances.

We have fish schooling on top then as the sun rises I am catching them from 25 ft to 35 ft. When they are schooling all you have to do is chunk the spoon out and let it do the rest. If you have not spoon fished before you need to learn.
It works on any lake. Numbers are good and big fish are biting. I had all of my toys taken away by a monster, now is the time to catch the fish of your dreams.

I fished with Emil Avila and Alex Luna of Lubbock on 9-3-19. It was one of those days that the
lake was like glass all day which always makes Alan Henry tough to catch fish. We tried top
water lures early, and only caught one. We had a few other hits, but they didn't stick. We
turned to crank baits, and caught 11 or 12, with one of them being a large crappie.

I fished with my brother, Boyd, and cousin, Cletis, on 8-5-19. The lake was perfectly calm up
until noon. I don't see the lake like this very often. With absolutely no breeze, it got hot really
fast. We caught 19 bass on top water and crank baits. A couple of the bass would go around
3 lbs. We quit fishing before noon because of the heat. I just can't take the heat like I use too.

07/18/19 FISHING FROM SUNUP TO 2PM!
I am fishing 2 different lakes, Lake Alan Henry and Lake J B Thomas. On LAH we have a lot of schooling activity, and I am catching my fish on spoons and football head jigs. The fishing is great on both lakes. On Thomas I am using Carolina rigged worms and catching a lot of very large fish. It is a good place to go on the weekends because you don't have all the water skiers. I wanted to let everybody know that my spoons are now available and are being produced here in TEXAS! 07/14/19 NIGHT FISHIN' WITH THE MOON & THE COYOTES
I fished with my brother, Boyd, and my cousin, Cletis, during the night of 7-14-19. We had a
nearly full moon, and the coyotes were in great voice all night. We caught 30 bass on blue
worms with the largest going 3.43 pounds. If was a beautiful night with just a very light

06/25/19 GETTING OUT EARLY TO BEAT THE HEAT!
Catching my fish on Jigs, Carolina Rigs and Spoons. I have not wrote a report for a while because I took some time off. Here are some photos of the week of June the 18th through the 21st. 06/17/19 A WEEK OF FISHING TRIPS
On 6-11-12-19 I fished with the Elger clan from Midland, Odessa, Wisconsin, and South
Korea. I fished with Jake, David, and Lee the first morning, and then with others that
afternoon. Second morning I fished with Jerry, Kent, Kevin, and then with Connor and Lee. In
the morning we started catching fish on top waters, and then we fished crank baits. In the two
days we caught 54 with the largest coming on a top water. Weighed 3.81 pounds. Caught
others weighing around three pounds. I'm sure I missed some names, Sorry. Great family.
On 6-13-19 I fished with Tommy Meyers, his son Patrick, and Patrick's 6 year old son, Ryan
of Odessa. We didn't do as well on the top water lures, but the fish were biting the crank
baits. We caught 22 with the largest going 3 lbs or better. Another great family.
On 6-14-19 I fished with Richard Briant of Hobbs, NM. after he helped me change a ruined
tired and wheel on my boat trailer. The lug nuts were so tight that we broke my lug wrench
trying to get the lug nuts off. After we finally got on the water, we did really well. We caught
several on top water lures, and then switched to crank baits. The largest came on a top water
lure. Weight close to 3 lbs. We caught 30 fish up until the time I had to head to a friends
wedding. Richard was great help in getting the wheel fixed on my boat. Could not have done
it without him because he had a cheater pipe to take off the lug nuts. Thanks Richard.

days we caught 54 with the largest coming on a top water. Weighed 3.81 pounds. Caught
others weighing around three pounds. I'm sure I missed some names, Sorry. Great family.
On 6-13-19 I fished with Tommy Meyers, his son Patrick, and Patrick's 6 year old son, Ryan
of Odessa. We didn't do as well on the top water lures, but the fish were biting the crank
baits. We caught 22 with the largest going 3 lbs or better. Another great family.
On 6-14-19 I fished with Richard Briant of Hobbs, NM. after he helped me change a ruined
tired and wheel on my boat trailer. The lug nuts were so tight that we broke my lug wrench
trying to get the lug nuts off. After we finally got on the water, we did really well. We caught
several on top water lures, and then switched to crank baits. The largest came on a top water
lure. Weight close to 3 lbs. We caught 30 fish up until the time I had to head to a friends
wedding. Richard was great help in getting the wheel fixed on my boat. Could not have done
it without him because he had a cheater pipe to take off the lug nuts. Thanks Richard.

05/26/18 LOTS OF NICE FISH!
On May 13th I fished with Jim Elliot on May 15th I fished with Wes Masters and his son Will on May 16th I fished with John Burnett on May 18th I fished with Conner Key for his 18th Birthday and on May 22nd I fished with Beau Nelson. In 5 days we caught over 200 fish with a lot of nice fish, the numbers are great. My youngest son Jerad come to visit, and go to our oldest grandson, Jordan Pool's graduation from Frenship High School. While he was here he enjoyed several days fishing at LAH where he caught 2 monster bass, Wednesday he caught his personal best 12.12 lb bass and on Thursday he caught an 11.12 lb bass. Congratulations son the whole family is proud of you. We are very proud of Jordan for his accomplishments also. We are catching our fish on Carolina rig worms, wacky rig Sinkos and Bass Assets jigs, Ima Glide Flukes and Jerk Baits. We are booking into June and still have several days open. 05/18/19 THIS WIND WON'T KEEP US FROM FISHIN!
I fished with Bill and Paul Fricke of Seminole on 5-18-19. We caught 37 bass with two going
over three pounds. One caught on top water and the other on a shaky head worm. We
caught 17 on top water before we switched to fishing worms on shaky heads and Texas rigs.
I was so tired after our trip because of fighting the wind and trolling motor all day. We fished
where the wind was blowing into the bank because this is the only place we could get bites. If
we got out of the wind, we never had one hit.

water. We caught 38 bass on worms put on a shaky head. It was a beauitful day to be on the
water, but we had trouble finding bass of any size.
I fished with Joe Tammen of San Angelo on 5-9-19. It was a cold day with the wind out of the
NE. We nearly froze until we went back to the car for more warm clothes. We caught 40 bass
up to 3 lbs on mostly shaky head worms, and a few on a spin jig with a Fluke. Joe is always
fun to fish with. He always brings some goooood burritos for lunch. His wife and daughter
does a great job on making the burritos.

I fished with John and Brandon on 5-1-19 and I fished with Scott on 5-2-19, I fished with Joe Rich on 5-6-19. The fishing is absolutely fantastic, caught 147 fish in 3 days fishing, with a lot of 2 to 4 lb bass. We had 2 very sad stories, 1 big one broke the line and the other one politely sawed us off. 05/04/19 CATCHING ON SHAKY HEAD JIGS & BLUE WORMS
I fished with Leah and William Balandis of Andrews, TX on 5-4-19. We had a good day on
the lake catching 31 fish with Leah catching the largest. This was a 2 1/2 pound spot.
We had wind out of the North East all day, and cloud cover all day long. All the bass were

05/01/19 SEVERAL FISHING TRIPS CATCHING LOTS OF BASS!
I'm sorry that I have not sent any fishing reports in the last few weeks. Something happen to
my computer, and I couldn't receive or send emails. My son finally got it back on line.
I fished with my cousin, Cletis Clayton, on 4-9-19. We caught 13 nice bass.
I fished with Wendel Decker of Slaton on 4-22-19. We caught 14. Nothing large, but the
largest went over 3 1/2 pounds.
I fished with Travis Culpepper in the armed services stationed in Lubbock, and his Father,
John Culpepper of Houston. We had a good day catching 21 bass. Had my line broken on a
fish.
I fished with Jack Tiffin of Earth, TX, his son, Clay Tiffin of Lubbock, and Jack's son -in-law,
Paul Rodgers of San Diego, CA. These are all my kin folks. We had a great day. We caught
35 bass. We couldn't find the larger bass, but we had some quality bass close to three
pounds.
I fished with Jim Ward who is in Sunset International Bible Institute in the SAIM program
taking bible classes. He is from Montana. We fished on 4-29-19. We spent time fishing and
touring around the lake. We caught 13 bass before the wind shifted from the South-West to
the North-East. The bass shut off when the wind shifted.
All of these bass were caught on Senko's, swim jigs with a 7 inch worm, or 4 inch worms on
a shaky head, and crank baits. Most were caught on the swim jigs, or shaky head jigs.

04/26/19 THE FISHING IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT AND MAY HAS JUST ARRIVED!
I fished with Charlie Brown and his son Sam, I fished with Brent Callegan this week. What a way to end April in 2 days we caught over 60 fish, a lot of fish in the 2.5 and 4 lb range. Here in the pic is Kurt Callegan with a 10.44 lb bass, the biggest bass he had caught before this fish was a 3 lb bass. Kurt caught a fish of a life time, he was so nervous it was like he had Buck fever, I thought I felt the boat shake, I could not get him to hold the fish so I could get a good pic of him but that was not important to him. The fishing is absolutely great and May has just arrived. I am catching my fish on Top Waters early and late. We have all 3 stages of fish pre spawn, spawn and post spawn. The east end of the lake is just now coming alive. The bite is getting good. Our fish are bedding deeper because the lake caught 5 ft of water in 2 weeks. I was not seeing any fish in the new water, until now. The Sinko is rock'n and the jerk bait bite is great, and the lake is in better shape than I have seen it in 5 years. 04/23/19 THE FISH ARE IN FULL BLOWN SPAWN!
I fished with Andrew Laming, Tommy James, Denny Sprinkle and Danny Garcia, in 4 days of fishing we lost count of how many fish that we caught, it was in the hundreds. The fish are in full blown spawn the lake is almost completely full and I think you could fall in the water and come up with a fish in your pocket. Caught our fish on spinner baits, jigs and sinkos. We are booking into May and May is going to be the best month out of the entire spring season. This has been a banner year with the numbers being fantastic and lots of big fish, up to 12.5 lbs. 04/13/19 THE BIG GIRLS ARE MOVING UP & THE SPAWN HAS BEGUN!
April 9th I fished with John Hand and with Mike Stevenson, on April 11th I fished with Mike Stevenson. The fishing was real good, we boated over 60 fish in 2 days. We lost 3 really big fish that we did not get to see. The big girls are moving up. I have seen 3 giant fish over 10 lbs cruising in shallow water. The spawn has begun. It will last through out June. I am catching a lot of numbers on Sinko's, Buzz baits, Spinner baits and Swim jigs. I have the 24th of April and the 30th of April open. I booking into May. 04/08/19 CATCHING ON SHAKY HEADS & TEXAS RIG WORMS
I fished with Sam Carter of San Antonio, and Christopher Mackenzie of London on 4-6-19.
The morning fishing was good, but in the afternoon the fish really turned off. This was the day
after all the rain at the lake with the thunder and lightning. We still managed to put 13 bass in
the boat. All were caught on shaky heads and Texas rig worms. I was surprised that we
caught fish in the morning because it was completely calm with a light wind coming in the
afternoon, and usually a little wind is a big help on Alan Henry.

04/08/19 MY BEST DAY ON LAKE ALAN HENRY IN TWO YEARS!!
I fished mainly in Grape Creek. I caught 24 Spotted bass and one 13 inch black bass, the longest spotted bass was 14 inches. Water temp was 68 F. I had two larger fish that I never saw and failed to land. I fished with four inch Gulp minnows.
This was my best day on Alan Henry in over two years.

04/04/19 MAY IS MY FAVORITE MONTH TO FISH!
I fished with Robert Mathis 4-2-19, Billy Reynolds 4-4-19 and Desiree and Damon 4-5-19. Had another good week we boated over 60 fish with the biggest one going 5.64 lbs. No giants this week but I have seen fish in the back of nearly every cut on beds and very large fish suspended in the top of trees. The fish are moving in to spawn. I am also seeing large numbers of fish on my graph in 25 to 30 ft of water. These will be our May spawning fish. I love May it is the favorite month out of the whole year. We will have a full blown spawn from both ends of the lake. We are 3 weeks behind where we should be. We have 2 days open for April and are booking into May. 03/30/19 WHAT A GREAT MONTH WE'VE HAD! CALL NOW TO BOOK!
I fished with Jim Blakley on the 26th and Jody Pope on the 28th this has been the best March fishing since 2017. We are catching great numbers of 3 to 5 lbs fish and boating lots of fish from 5 to 12 lbs. What a great month we have had. Hello April, it is just going to get better. I am catching my fish on Sinkos, Spinnerbaits and I am catching the really big fish on Swim Jig. Thank you Lunker Lure for all that you do for me. They have great Spinnerbaits and my favorite swim jig, the E-Z Skip and Swim jig 1/2 oz. This has been my go to big fish bait for years. The water temp on the main lake is 60 degrees, and I found 65 degrees in the back of nearly all the creeks. The lake is fixin to blow up, the fishing is going to be out of this world. 03/26/19 WIND OUT OF THE NORTHEAST
I fished with an old friend from Springlake-Earth days, Butch Vandiver of Muleshoe and his son from Lubbock, Monty. We caught 18 bass with the largest going 5 lbs. 9 ozs. The largest was caught by Butch. The wind was still out of the NE, and the water temp was still 58 on main lake to 60 degrees up some of the creeks. Butch's fish was caught on a crank bait, and the tail of the fish was bloody from being on bed. We caught about half of the fish on crank baits, and the rest on shaky heads with a worm. 03/24/19 A LOT OF BIG FISH OVER 9 LBS!
I fished with John Hand 3-20-19, I fished with Adam Boyd 3-21-19 and I fished with Chris Kenner on 3-23-19. This was a great week the fish are in full blown pre spawn, and the fishing is getting better by the day. Our water temp is 55 degrees on the East end and 60 on the West end. This is on the main lake. In the creeks it is a little warmer. We boated over 65 fish with lots of 3 to 4 lb fish and a lot of real nice 1.5 to 2 lb fish. My biggest fish this year so far is a 10.63. I am catching my fish on the Ima Glide Fluke, Spinnerbaits, Sinkos and as always the Swim Jig. Call us and see what we have available, we are going to have a late spawn this year it will go all the way into June. Our full moon cycles are at the end of the month, the fish will start spawning on the West end within the next 2 weeks. Then it graduates toward the dam. 02/11/19 WE ARE CATCHING QUALITY FISH!
On 2-7-19 I fished with Pool Webb and on 2-9-19 I fished with Nacho Rubio. I fished 2 days this week in adverse conditions but the fishing was good. We boated 25 fish this week and the fish we are catching are quality fish with some real big fish mixed in. The biggest one this week was a 10.63 lb bass. We had another fish 6 feet from the boat laying on her side that was a definite Share Lunker. Sometimes your a hero sometimes your a zero! All in all it was a great week and the big girls are on the prowl. I am catching my fish on Lunker Lure EZ skip and swim jigs, and Hawg Caller spinnerbaits. The fish in the photo was caught on the spinnerbait. The heart breaker was lost on the jig. I'm catching my fish in shallow water, 5 to 15 ft. This year is going to be a banner year for LAH. Our fish are fat & sassy. With each passing week fishing will get better and better. The water temp is 49 degrees on the East end of the lake. On the West end of the lake it is 51 degrees, 55 degrees is magic. I am graphing giant schools of fish in 25 to 40 ft of water. These fish will move up rapidly as the water temp rises. 02/22/19 FISHING IS GETTING BETTER BY THE DAY!
I fished with Desiree and Damon on Feb 22. They have been fishing with me for 1 year, we have had great days and we have had bad days. The 22nd was a good day, considering the terrible weather. We only boated 7 fish but had a 5lb spot and a 4 lb spot. I hate the wind just like everyone else I am catching my fish from 8ft to 25ft. Our lake is in great shape. The fishing is getting better by the day. What we need to get the bite in full swing is nights that are 40 degrees and the days in the 60 and 70s. The high wind is rolling our lake over and blowing our surface temperature off. I have been catching fish on Hawg Caller spinner baits and Lunker Lure Ez Skip and Swim swim jigs. 02/04/19 WE FOUND THE WARMER WATER UP THE CREEKS
I went to the lake with Wendel Decker of Slaton to try out and break in his new Bass Tracker boat. We didn't fish much, but we managed to catch a 6 1/2 lb bass on a crank bait, and a smaller one on a shaky head jig. The water temp was 52.2 to 55 degrees. We found the warmer water up the creeks. This new Bass Tracker is a really sweet boat. If you ask Wendel if he likes his new boat, he will tell you how much he likes it. He will get lots of enjoyment being out on the water fishing in his new boat. I have been out of commission for the last few months. My wife had her 4th back surgery in December, and I have been gladly wife sitting and being a taxi for her. This surgery has alleviated pain that she has had over the past 4 years. 01/21/19 THE FISH ARE MOVING UP AND LIGHTING MY GRAPH UP!
On January 21, 2019 I fished with Jim Blakeley and his 2 sons. In very adverse conditions sometimes the wind is your friend and sometimes the wind is your enemy. When we started fishing in the morning the wind was already blowing 20 mph, by 2:00 we had gust up to 44 mph. It made it real tough to fish. Here is the great thing about LAH you can always find a place out of the wind. We managed to catch some quality fish and the wind wore us out. At least we fished hard and it paid off, we caught our fish on Hawg Caller spinnerbaits, chartreuse and white double willow leaf. We had 1 sad story, Jim had a large fish that broke him off. The fish are moving up and lighting my graph up. Their on the break lines and the channel bends. Water temp is 50 degrees and the lake is in great shape. Jim and his son's are great people and hard fishermen. It is going to be a great year and the fish are already biting. Book your trips for the future and if you have cabin fever let's go fishing. 01/17/19 THE BIG FISH ARE ON THE MOVE!
1-17-19 had a great day today. Got to fish by myself and it was a beautiful day. 2 weeks ago our water temp was 40 degrees, today our water temp was 50 degrees. It is amazing what 2 weeks of sunny weather did. The shad were popping all over the lake and fish were blowing up on them. I had a great day on the water did not catch anything under 3 lbs. and I am fishing up the major creeks. Caught my fish today on Hawg Caller spinnerbait, I love the new head on their new bait it has 3 D eyes and runs true in the water without having to tune it. I also caught a lot of fish on the Lunker Lure E-Z Skip and swim jig. The big fish are on the move and I am on one of the best January bites I have ever had. The quality of the fish is great. I am catching them from 2 to 12 ft of water. I have openings for January. Let's go fishing. Give me a call. 12/31/18 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Happy New Year to everyone! Haven't wrote a fishing report in awhile. The fishing at LAH has been very good I have been catching a lot of magnum spots, 3 to 5 lbs despite the cold weather. We have been catching our fish on spoons and jigs.
Catching the fish on spoons out of 20 to 30 ft of water, and the jig fish are coming right of the edge of the ledges right on the drop.
I have been doing alot of hunting and had a great year hunting, we have killed 5 bucks all in the 150's and my son got his personal best a 162. Hunt one day and fish the next day. 2018 has been a great year at LAH.
Our lake is set up really good, the lake is over 90% full.
2019 will be even better. Don't wait for it to warm up the best bite seems to be from 9:00 until 3:00, when the sun is at it's highest point. Anyone that wants to go catching give me a call. All you have to do is put on layers of clothes and pick a bright sunny day.
The fish are piled up in schools. I am not catching any small fish. Winter fishing is when we catch a lot of big fish, there is no pressure on the fish and you basically have the lake all to yourself.
Let's go get 'em!

10/23/18 CONGRATS TO BROTHER DANNY!!
Don't want to repeat myself, but I had another great week at LAH. Honestly I can't tell you how many we caught.
Catching our fish on spoons, The Ima Glide Fluke, swim jigs and crankbaits.
Congrats to brother Danny with a 10.78 lb bass and 24.5 lb bag total weight with 5 fish, he won 1st at the tournament and a big check.

10/12/18 NEW BAIT CATCHES OVER 125 FISH!!
On 10-12-18 I fished with John Hand, John has become a very good client and learns real fast. This was an amazing day. We lost count at 125 fish we caught our fish on Spoons and new bait from Optimum baits the name of the bait is Ima Glide Fluke. This bait is a cross between a jerkbait, a swimbait, and a topwater. This bait is a must have it catches Giant fish. I have had it for 2 weeks and caught more fish than I can count. It comes in 2 sizes a 4" and 7". If you want to catch the big fish out of LAH this is the bait. Give the good people at Optimum baits a call, ask for Matt he will get you hooked up. 10/03/18 THE FISH ARE VERY HEALTHY, FAT & SASSY!
On 10-3-2018 I fished with Billy Reynolds and his son John, in very high winds up to 30 mph we had a great day. Billy has been fishing with me for over 10 years. We caught 30 fish with some real nice chunky fish we caught our fish on spoons and new bait Optimum Baits, it is called the gliding fluke. It comes in 4" and 7" models, it is a crossbred between a topwater and a jerkbait with swim bait features. I have never fished with a bait that has as much action as this bait.
It opened a door to a new way of fishing for me and it will for you also.
Fall fishing is underway and something new has happened to LAH I have not seen this in over 5 years, the shad are back by the billions there are literally acres of shad on top of the water. It is going to make our fish grow bigger and bigger.
The fish are very healthy, fat and sassy.

09/27/18 FOUR HOUR TRIP
I fished with Bill Davis of Houston, and his father, Dwight, from Lubbock on 9-27-18. We had
a 4 hour trip. The lake upriver was dirty where I usually like to fish top water, but we still
managed to catch a few. We moved to clear water where to bass his the top water lures
better. After the sun came out from behind the clouds, we had to change to crank baits. We
caught 14 bass for the 4 hour trip. There were only 5 boats on the lake while we were there.

09/23/18 WE CAUGHT 24 BASS ON WORMS & SPINNER BAITS.
I fished with John Rivera of Lubbock on 9-23-18. We fished at night until the fog ran us off
the lake about 2 a.m. We caught 24 bass on worms and spinner baits. We didn't have much
wind that night, and we couldn't find the larger fish. Most of the night the coyotes were in full
voice howling at the moon. I love listening to them bay at the moon.

09/20/18 THE BAD WEATHER DOESN'T EFFECT THE DEEP WATER BITE
9-20-18 I fished with Michael Stevenson, 9-21- I fished with John Hand and his employee J.C. in 2 days of fishing we boated 77 fish with countless overs and 5 fish over 4lbs and a heavy 6. We had 3 very sad stories. Big fish taking our toys away. We fished this week in 30 to 35 mph winds and a very bad cold front. One good thing is the bad weather really doesn't effect the deep water bite. We are catching our fish out of 25 to 35 ft of water on spoons and football head jigs.
Early in the mornings we are catching topwater fish, jerk bait fish and wake bait fish. Fall fishing is underway and on a scale from 1 to 10, I give it a 10. I have openings for October, November and I have 2 days in September left. Call me for bookings and don't miss out on this fantastic bite, it will only get better.

09/18/18 IT WAS A GREAT DAY TO BE ON THE LAKE!
fished with my cousin, Sonnie Clayton, on 9-18-18. We caught 16 bass. The largest bass
were caught on top water lures with the largest largemouth going 3 lbs 5 ozs. Three more of
the bass, Spotted Bass, were over 18 inches long. It was a great day to be on the lake with
the clouds sticking around into the afternoon. 9 bass were caught on top water lures, and 7
were caught on crank baits.

09/15/18 I'M SEEING SHAD BY THE MILLIONS!
9-15-18 I fished with John Hand, we had a great day we caught 65 fish between the 2 of us. We caught our fish early in the morning on Jerkbaits and Swim jigs then we moved offshore and started fishing spoons. We caught fish until our arms hurt. John had never caught fish on spoons before he is a good fisherman and a fast learner. He caught the 1st and the most and the biggest, a 4lb spot. It is a blast to catch the fish out of deep water, especially when you are catching them 2 at a time. John caught 9 fish in 9 cast. It was a great day. I have been on this bite for 2 months.
The water temp is 79 degrees and we have had another shad spawn.
I am seeing shad by the millions from 1" long to 4" long.
Give us a call and get in on this great bite.
When the water temp hits 70 degrees the top water bite will kick in.

08/24/18 I LOVE FISH'N MY SPOONS

08/17/18 WE CAUGHT FISH UNTIL OUR ARMS HURT!
I fished with Henry Ruiz and his son on 8-17-18 it was a great great day!!!! We caught 85 fish!!! All on spoons in 25 to 45 ft of water. There has been a second shad spawn and our fish are taking advantage of it. This is the best spoon bite that I have been on in 2 years!!! We caught fish until our arms hurt sometimes all 3 rods were loaded, 3 at a time. Our fish are fat, sassy, mean and pull hard. We fished from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM. Henry is taking his son to Texas Tech, he is a freshman this year. They are from San Antonio. They will remember this day for a long time. The good thing is his son will be here for 4 years and I look forward to fishing with them again. These were very good fishermen.
We are booking for the fall. Summertime fishing is great. Give me a call.

08/03/18 NIGHT FISHING!!
I fished with Craig Moore and his son, Blake, on the night of Aug. 3rd. We had a fair trip with
the numbers being low, but the quality was pretty good. The largest bass we had in the boat
weighed 4 lbs 9 ozs. We started to take Blake's picture with the fish when it gave a big flop,
and hit the deck and into the water. Another 5 bass were around the 3 lb range. We didn't
have a moon until around 1 a.m. Except for the strong wind, it was a great night. Usually you
don't have this strong of a wind at night.

07/27/18 THE FULL MOON WAS A BEAUTIFUL SIGHT TO SEE!!
I fished at night with Jose and his wife, Flor, from Lubbock on 7-27-18. We had a fair night catching 4 or 5 quality spotted bass on worms. We had at least 4 or 5 around 3 lbs. and better. Flor landed most of the larger bass. The full moon was a beautiful sight to see even though the clouds tried to hid the moon from us. We still could see pretty well with the cloud cover. 07/25/18 WE CAUGHT 90% OF OUR FISH ON SPOONS
July 25, 2018 I fished with Brandon Rogers and his 11 year old son Brent. These are great people and we had a blast. His 11 yr old son Brent is one of the best children that I have ever had in my boat in 15 years of guiding. Brent is smarter than myself and his dad. He got into the water 3 times!!!!! While myself and his dad stayed hot. We caught 26 fish today with the largest going 4 lbs. can't wait to go fishing with these guys again. We caught 90% of our fish on spoons and the rest on power worms. Been waiting on the spoon bite to kick in, it is on. There has been a shad spawn and there are billions of 1.5" to 2" shad all over the lake. Great summer time fishing. 07/21/28 THE FISH ARE BITING!!!!!
Saturday July 21, 2018 I fished with John Kenjura and his uncle Andy, we had a good day. I met some new friends and new clients. We were catching magnum spots up to 4 lbs. John and Andy have never caught a spotted bass. They were amazed at how strong and mean the spots are. They are 2 very good fishermen and we had a blast. We were catching the larger fish on 10" power worms. There were alot and I mean alot of schooling fish. We fished a 75 yard stretch and never left. Great people and a great day. I'm catching my fish from 25 to 35 ft of water and schooling fish on top. I have openings don't be afraid of the heat we go out at sunup and come in when it gets to hot. My brother Danny also had a great day. He caught 25 to 30 fish also, and won the tournament on a different part of the lake. THE FISH ARE BITING!!!!! 07/04/18 OUR LARGEST FISH WEIGHED 21 POUNDS
July 4th I fished with Desiree and Damon Anderson we had a great day. Desiree and Damon are from Louisiana and had never been bass fishing before and were saltwater fishermen. I don't know how many fish we actually caught. Our largest 4 fish weighted 21 lbs. We caught our fish on Jigs and 10" Power Worms. We only fished 6 hours and I met some new friends and new clients, which made a great 4th of July. These people were a joy to be around and I look forward to fishing with them again. 07/02/18 FISHING IS GOOD EARLY IN THE MORNINGS & LATE IN THE EVENINGS
On July 2, I fished with John Hand for a evening trip. We fished 4.5 hours and caught 16 bass up to 5.5 lbs. John lost another fish that was between 6 and 8 lbs. Sorry John you just got your butt kicked. We caught all of our fish on jigs and had a lot of chunky fish these were the 4 biggest that we got in the boat. Summertime fishing is good early in the mornings and late in the evening. We had a great evening fishing. John had never caught fish on jigs this is the second time I have taken John jig fishing, he is learning very fast. I have openings don't be afraid of the heat, fish early and in the evenings. 06/20/18 THE FISH WERE RIGHT ON THE BREAK
On June 20th I fished with Rhonda and Harlan Vincent we got surprised by an early morning rain shower. We had to get off the lake for around 2 hours. The rest of the day went pretty good we boated 17 fish and had 9 overs, we lost another 10 fish. The bite was a pressure bite we were catching our fish on Jigs, Sinko's rigged Texas style and worms. We were fishing off of a ledge that had 20 ft of water on top of it and broke to 35 ft. The fish were right on the break. If your bait wasn't on the break you did not get a bite. The fish are moving a little deeper and the spoon bite will be kicking in soon. I have opening and we can beat the heat with night fishing or fish 6 hour days. 06/12/18 CATCHING ON TOP WATERS VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING
On 6-12-18 I fished with Brian West and on 6-15-18 I fished with Johne Hand had a good week. We had 3 over 5 and our total catch of the week was 48 bass. John and I had 12 fish over 3 lbs, John caught the biggest going 5.5 lbs.
I am catching my fish on Carolina Rig worms and Football Head Jigs and Top Waters very early in the morning.

06/12/18 CATCHING BASS ON CRANK BAITS
I fished with Sheyenne Scott and his young son, Cannon. We were on a 4 hour trip, and we
caught 17 fish with Cannon catching the largest and the most. We caught all the bass on
crank baits trolling. With young clients, this is sometimes the best way to keep them fishing
and catching. Sheyenne and Cannon were really great to spend time with them on the lake.

06/07/18 THE SPOON BITE IS FIXING TO BREAK LOOSE
On 5-30-18 I fished with Billy Reynolds 5-31-18 I fished with Charles Colley on 6-4-8, I fished with Ben Holliday and on 6-6-18 I fished with Robert Sullivan, it has been very very hot. In 4 days of fishing we caught 90 fish up to 5 lbs. The weather got hot real fast. I have never seen it do this in the 50 plus years that I have lived in West Texas.
The water Temp went from the 70's to 85 degrees in less than 2 weeks. It made the fish move offshore. They are right below the thermocline in 20 ft of water. They are going deeper. They are actually shocked.
I am catching my fish on jigs, topwaters, sinko's and power worms. The spoon bite is fixing to break loose. The fish will start schooling up and eating the spoons and the football head jig in the deep water.
The lake gained over 2 ft of water in one night. The lake just settled out as of 6-7-18 and the fish are chasing shad big time. I am seeing some schooling activity.
Going to start night fishing for those that are interested. I have some new fishing holes that I will be fishing, I will keep you updated.

05/31/18 SPINNER BAITS CAUGHT MORE AT NIGHT
I fished with John Rivera in my boat, Robert Crane and Ray Bland in another boat on 5-31-18. It was a great night with us catching 88 bass up to 7 lbs. I will have to a mitt that the other boat out fished my boat. They caught theirs on spinner baits, and we were fishing worms. Spinner baits caught more and bigger bass at night. I learned that I will be fishing more spinner baits at night in the future. We all caught bass, but they beat my boat bad. I was proud of them. 05/28/18 THE BASS WERE HITTING 10" & 7" WORMS

05/25/18 BEAT THE HEAT WITH NIGHT FISHING!
I fished 4 hours with Bryan and Zane Scott of Liberty Hill, TX on 5-25-18. Zane is a Tech
student. We caught 15 bass in these 4 hours. Started catching the fish on top water lures,
and then switched to shaky head jigs. We had a light wind to start the day, and then the wind
got to blowing pretty good. When we quit a little before 11:00, the bass were still hitting the

05/24/18 FISH ARE SPAWNING AND ON BEDS THROUGHOUT JUNE
Sorry folks that I have not updated my fishing report. I have been very busy. On 5-14-18 I fished with Andrew Laming, on 5-15-18 I fished with John Gandy, on 5-17-18 I fished with Matt Beene, on 5-19-18 I fished with Justin Cope, on 5-20-18 I fished with Scott Leach, on 5-22-18 I fished with Mike Moore. On the water 6 days had to have some rest. Out of 6 days of fishing we boated over 250 fish, really lost count. Mike Moore is the Hero of the week, see his pic, he landed a 7.11 lb bass. I have a very sad story for Scott Leach he had his personal best beside the boat, it was a 10 to 12 lb bass, it broke his line the fish had the bait very deep in it's throat and it's teeth cut the line. Sad Story #2 same thing happened to me. The fish are still spawning and on beds, this will continue throughout June. Out of all the fish we caught in 6 days we had at least 75 overs. We caught most of our fish on Sinkos and Swim Jigs, and the topwater bite is kicking in. The Bluegill have hit the shore and are spawning this will make the topwater bite kick in. 05/13/18 POST SPAWN, PRE SPAWN, & SPAWN FISH
I fished with Jim Brown on 5-7-18, on 5-9-18 I fished with Wes Armenta and on 5-11-18 I fished with Dustin Pratt. It was a very good week. We boated in 3 days of fishing, 80 to 100 fish we lost count. The fish are on the beds and we are catching our fish on sinkos, jigs, topwaters and swimbaits. I have a sad story, the bass in the pic that Dustin is holding is the 5 lb buck, then we had the teenager on the bed, that was a monster bass. The biggest fish that I have seen on a bed in a couple of years. The fish broke my favorite rod in half. Then she got off. This fish was a true giant it weighed over 13 lbs. We had the fish to the top of the water and it broke the rod. Dustin did not walk away empty handed, he got to take the broken rod home with him and the memory which will haunt him for a couple of years. Like my brother Danny says when it is meant to be it is meant to be. To bad so sad. I have openings for May, I have 2 days left and now we are booking into June. This is when our deep water spawn takes place from 10 to 20 ft deep. Last May 24th is when I caught my personal best a 14.2. I caught the fish out of 21 ft of water and she was on a bed. Our topwater bite will kick in hard because we will have post spawn, pre spawn and spawn fish. 05/07/18 WE CAUGHT 34 BASS ON SHAKY HEAD JIGS
I fished with Tommy Stowe, an American living in London, England, and Levi Massey of
Lubbock. They are long time friends, and fished with me about a year ago. It was a very, very
windy day. One of my trolling motor batteries quit about time for us to stop fishing for the day.
At least we did get to finish the trip. We caught 34 bass on shaky head jigs with blue worms.
Levi caught the two largest with them going close to 3 lbs. We caught several other bass
about as big as the two Levi caught.

05/04/18 BASS MEASURING 18 INCHES OR OVER!
On 5-4-18. I fished with Joe Tammen from San Angelo, his second trip this year. You will not
believe our catch. We caught 66 bass on shaky head jigs. The 5 largest were about 18
inches. We only measured 2 of the fish, and they were 18 inches or over. With the wind out
of the north west, we had a chilly start, but it warmed up after the sun came out around 10
a.m. We had top water bites early that morning, but we could not get them in the boat. One
large bass hung me up in a tree, and got off.

5-2-18 I fished with David Karvas and on 5-3-18 I fished with Chris McAllister, the fishing was very good.
We boated over 40 fish with a 6.5 and 7.25 for our two biggest fish. We had a lot of quality fish.
The bite on Alan Henry is getting better and better everyday. The big girls are up and cruising. We have been a month behind on our spawn. The water temp is around 67 degrees. Now our fish are on the move big time. It is time to go fishing.
I am catching my fish on swim jigs, sinko's and topwaters. Topwaters when the wind doesn't blow.

04/27/18 THE BITE IS VERY GOOD!
Friday the 27th I fished with Steve Downing, we caught over 20 bass with the biggest going over 4lbs. The spawn is on. I saw a lot of fish up shallow and some big fish cruising. It has been a long wait and all the big tournaments are over.
The bite is very good, I am catching good numbers and quality fish.
May is my favorite month. Right now we have all 3 stages pre spawn, spawn and post spawn fish. I am catching my fish on swim jigs, football head jigs, jerk bait and topwaters.
I have open days for May and June, Let's go Catching.

04/27/18 VERY LIGHT WIND OUT OF THE SOUTH
I fished with Malcolm Brownell of Lubbock on 4-27-18. We started the day close to the boat
ramp because it was a cool morning. In 30 minutes we had 10 bass in the boat with a 20
incher and a 19 incher as the larger bass. The very light wind was out of the south west when
we were catching bass. During this time we caught 16 bass, and then the very, very light
breeze came from the north east, and the catching was mostly over. We only caught 4 more
after the wind changed, so we decided to go home at 2:00 p.m. We caught them on shaky
head jigs.

04/21/18 THE BITE IS ON BIG TIME!
I fished with Robert Perry and had another day this week with a family member. We caught over 100 fish with 40 of the fish over 18". The bite is on big time these are pre spawn fish. I hate to say it because it makes me sick to my stomach, I lost a monster on a bed and lost another one that had me I did not have her. On a scale of 1 to 10 the fishing is a 10.
The spawn is on and the pre spawn bite is fantastic.
The secret baits are spinner baits, sinko's, bladed jigs, football head jigs, top waters and as always the swim jig.
We caught fish until our arms hurt. By the way Congratulations to my brother Danny for winning the Jackpot Bass Club championship on Saturday the 21st. LAH is on fire the bite is great.
I'm catching my fish from 5 ft to 25 ft deep. I can't wait to get back out on the water. I was cursing the wind but the wind is your friend if you are in the right spot.
Like I said 3 weeks ago we were 3 weeks late, that time has passed the bite is on. For the next 2 months the fishing will be outstanding.

04/17/18 MAY HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR!
Ok folks, I am so sick of the wind I can't hardly stand it anymore. Our fish are sick of it too. We won't mention the cold fronts. Our fish have just now started to spawn. May is going to be magical. Our water temp has just now got to the point that our fish will now do their thing, Spawn. As I said before the spawn is very late we have a full moon coming up in May, the water temp is right and the Spawn is going to be on. Big Time!!
I am actually excited, the bucks are showing up on the beds. I have had a bad week and not been able to get out on the water because of the wind. I fished Sunday with Scott Leech and it was a beautiful day, I was catching fish in 5 to 10 ft of water after the 30 to 60 mph winds that blew for 3 days. We boated 17 fish up to 3 lbs and after I dropped my clients off I was able to fish by myself. I went scouting in the shallow water and saw some bucks fanning the beds. They are setting up for the spawn. I am seeing a lot of fish suspended in 20 to 25 ft of water in very large numbers.
May has always been the best month, we have all 3 stages pre spawn, spawn and post spawn to look forward to.
I am getting phone calls and request for Cat fishing. I am going to bait some holes and keep them baited for those that are interested in this. Please give us a call.

04/08/18 WARM WEEK COMING UP, SHOULD GET THE FISH MOVING!
I fished with Greg Pare on 4-2-18 and David Karvas on 4-4-18 and Morris Dubbs on 4-6-18. During the 3 passing cold fronts this week and the wind sucks, thats to put it mildly!!!! We managed to have a decent week, we caught 42 fish on Jerkbaits, Sinko's and as always swim jigs. Our 4 biggest fish of the week were a 4lb spot, 4.12lb spot and an 8.4lb Largemouth. My wife is on my back about taking photos but everytime I put a large fish in the livewell it jinks me and I can't get another one to go with it. Then when I try to take a picture, my batteries are not working. Thank you Kelli.
Well we solved that problem!! I would like to be able to fish where I want to instead of where the wind lets me. I guess I shouldn't complain because it was a tough week and cold.
The water temp is 59 to 60 degrees. Our fish are just now trying to spawn. I have looked in all of the spawning coves and have seen a few beds.
We have a warm week coming up,this should get them moving. I am seeing an unbelievable amount of fish suspended. They are at 10 to 25 ft no matter where I fish, East or West end of the lake. They are trying to get warm. We even caught a few crappie, nice ones on swim jigs. All the fish want to do their thing. Like I said last week we are about 3 weeks behind on our spawn. Now is the time to hit the water our fish will spawn for the next 2.5 months, all the way through June. Last May 24th I caught my personal best 14.2lbs that fish was spawning in 20ft of water on the East end of the lake. What I am trying to tell everyone don't just beat the bank, back off and fish from 10 to 20 ft of water, if they are suspended at 10 and 20, catchable fish will be from 10 to 20 ft. Well we solved that problem!! I would like to be able to fish where I want to instead of where the wind lets me. I guess I shouldn't complain because it was a tough week and cold.
The water temp is 59 to 60 degrees. Our fish are just now trying to spawn. I have looked in all of the spawning coves and have seen a few beds.
We have a warm week coming up,this should get them moving. I am seeing an unbelievable amount of fish suspended. They are at 10 to 25 ft no matter where I fish, East or West end of the lake. They are trying to get warm. We even caught a few crappie, nice ones on swim jigs. All the fish want to do their thing. Like I said last week we are about 3 weeks behind on our spawn. Now is the time to hit the water our fish will spawn for the next 2.5 months, all the way through June. Last May 24th I caught my personal best 14.2lbs that fish was spawning in 20ft of water on the East end of the lake. What I am trying to tell everyone don't just beat the bank, back off and fish from 10 to 20 ft of water, if they are suspended at 10 and 20, catchable fish will be from 10 to 20 ft. 04/05/18 WE CAUGHT 30 BASS NEAR THE DAM
Joe and I fished from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. It was a beautiful day. Went went up river to where the power lines cross the river. The water was muddy and only about two feet deep. We never caught a fish. We moved to the dam area that afternoon and caught about thirty bass, nothing larger than 12 inches. We visited with fish biologist leaving the lake. I wonder if they publish their findings?

03/31/18 WE CAUGHT 14 BASS UP UNTIL ABOUT 1:00PM
I fished with Malcolm Brownell of Wolfforth, TX on 3-31-18. The day started off very windy,
and about 1:00 p.m. the wind died. It was a typical day at LAH because when the wind died,
so did the fishing. We caught 14 bass up until about 1:00 p.m., and after that we caught 2.
Malcolm caught a spot over 19 inches, and I had one over 18 inches. Malcolm also caught
another good spot that we didn't measure. Crank baits and shaky heads were the lures.

03/31/18 THE NEXT 3 MONTHS ARE GOING TO BE PRIME!
I fished with Mr and Mrs Beene on 3-27-18, Dallas Stevens on 3-29-18 and Cade Copeland on 3-30-18, during the cold front that passed through this week. Fishing conditions were tough, High winds and cold. The fishing was good, we caught 53 fish with 5 over 4 lbs and 2 very sad stories. Two very large fish hooked up and pulled off.
I am catching my fish on swim jigs, sinko's, and hard jerk baits. Our fish are just now moving up to spawn, the fishing is fixing to get very exciting and the big girls are staged and moving up. There is also a good spoon bite in the clear water.

I fished with Steve Johnson of Plainview, and his Father-in-law, Jess Burner of El Paso on
3-26-18. It was a windy day with the bass hard to catch, but we managed to put 10 fish in the
boat. We also lost a few bass close to the boat. None of the fish were large enough for us to
brag about.

03/25/18 APRIL, MAY, & JUNE ARE GOING TO BE GREAT FISHING!
Here is an update on this weeks fishing, I fished with Cody Cox on 3-21-18 and fished with Danny Thomas on 3-23-18 and fished with Andrew Laming on 3-24-18.
The high winds and the cold fronts have our fish pushed back about 3 weeks on the spawn. We finally got some heat and the bass are responding well. I fished 3 days this week and caught a total of 36 bass with 6 over 4 lbs. Our water temp finally hit
60 degrees and the fish are responding very well. There is still no thermocline on the lake. Every week it is getting better and better.
I know of three 10 lbs bass and one 12 lbs bass that were caught this week. These were not caught out of my boat unfortunately.
We are catching our fish on crank baits, jigs and jerk baits. I am catching my fish out of the mid depth range, they have not hit the bank yet.
April May and June are going to be great fishing. We have openings please give us a call and let's go fishing.

03/23/18 THE WIND IS SHOWING STRENGTH

03/22/18 A GREAT FATHER AND SON TEAM

03/10/18 WATER TEMP IN THE MID 50's & THE FISH ARE MOVING UP
I fished with Tim Boelsen, Saturday March 10th. What a great day today was got to go fishing in my brand new boat for the 1st time. Congratulations to my brother Danny, he got 1st place in a club tournament with 5 fish a 22 lb stringer. The largest going over 8 lbs.
My clients and I caught over 25 fish with 8 over 4 lbs. I had a big one right next to the boat. Didn't grab it, it was at least 8 lbs. This was a very special day and the fishing is great.
Danny was fishing 5 miles away from me, we had 2 different patterns, but they are all pre spawn fish. I caught all of my fish on jigs and Danny caught all of his fish on crank baits.
Water temp is in the mid 50's and the fish are moving up. The fish are fat and sassy.
We are going to have a wonderful year this year. The lake is in great shape and we are at 85% capacity. I think the lake fishes better at this level than when it is completely full.
I have openings for March, April and May. Come climb aboard my new boat and let's go catch some big ones. The next 4 months will offer some of the best fishing until the spawn is over.

03/12/18 CLOUDY MORNINGS, BRIGHT SUN IN THE AFTERNOONS. NO WIND.
I fished with Darrell and Cutter Sparks, and Cutter's friend, Sawyer Jackson of Lubbock on
3-12-18. It was one of those days that there was no wind. Most of the time, if we moved, it
was with the trolling motor. It was cloudy in the morning with the sun coming out bright in the
afternoon. We caught 17 bass with Cutter catching the largest bass. His two largest were
right around the 3 lb. mark. Great guys to fish with.

Our New New Boat is here. The other boat was recalled and Cabela's replaced our boat with this beautiful boat. It is a year newer and has all the bells, Atlas hydraulic jack plate, a custom tarp, a MInn Kota battery charger, a Hamby's keel protector, upgraded the wheels and all the tackle boxes and so much more. 02/27/18 WILDLIFE IS OUT MAKING FISHING EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE
I fished with my cousin, Sonny Clayton, on 2-27-18, and we caught 8 bass with the largest 2
bass weighting an identical 3 lbs. 8 ozs. We caught 4 bass over 18 inches long. It was a hard
day of fishing because it was cloudy and very calm all day. Calm days on Alan Henry are
some of the worst day I have. Crank baits and shaky heads were the baits to use. Water
temp was 49 to 52 degrees.
I fished with Tanner Pope of Roswell, NM on 3-2-18. We had a good day with the best fishing
being in the afternoon. We only had 3 bass by 1:30 when we went to eat at Ziska's. After a
great burger, we started catching bass. Tanner caught the largest of the day weighting in at 4
lbs. 13 ozs. We had 4 over 18 inched long. During the day we also got to see a bobcat and
some buck deer while fishing. One Mule deer buck was really nice.

12/05/17 STILL CATCHIN' FISH IN THE COLD WEATHER!
I fished with Chris Rarich of New York on 12-5-17 on a very cold windy day. It was 40
degrees when we launched the boat, and it got all the way to 47 degrees as the day went
along. Wind out of the north. We managed to catch 13 with the largest going 3 lbs. 10 ozs.,
and another around 3 lbs. All were caught on shaky head jigs. We thought it was a good day
considering the weather, and we were the only boat on the lake.

I fished with Jeff Calhoun and Raul Espinoza of Snyder on 11-11-17. We caught 13 bass and
lost several more. We caught them on crank baits and shaky head jigs on steep banks. I got
on one of the largest bass that I have ever had on at Alan Henry. She took the crank bait
close to bank, and she went any where she wanted to go stripping line as she went. It only
lasted about 10 seconds when she pulled off the lure. Nothing broke, but I have never felt
such power. Another story of the one that got away. Two of us lost other really good bass that
day. Maybe next time.

10/15/17 DAYS HAVE BEEN WINDY
I fished with Matthew Sales and his dad Mike on a very windy day, 20 mph winds. Our numbers were low and we lost a lot of fish. I was teaching these guys how to fish a swim jig. We caught all of our fish on Lunker Lures Swim Jig. Water temp is 72 degrees and the fish are on the main lake flats and moving into the creeks. Matthew also lost a big fish that broke his line, his dad had another nice fish that we lost. We managed to put a beautiful 8 lb bass in the boat. These guys were good fishermen and we fished hard. I am catching my fish from 5 ft to 15 ft deep. I have opening this month, I am constantly catching big fish. We have a beautiful week ahead and I have openings. Fishing will just get better as the water continues to cool. As you can see from the photo this fish has been eating very well, what a toad. I fished with my cousin, Sonnie Clayton of Lubbock, on 10-6-17 at night. We finally got a
moon about 1:a.m., and the fish started biting. We caught 4 Spotted Bass 18" up to over 19
inches long. We caught them all on 7" worms. The fish did nothing until we got the moon.

a.m. My cousin caught one on his first cast of the night, and a little later my brother caught

Fall fishing is underway. The fish are moving up from their summer time haunts, from the deep water. They are moving upon the flats, and into the creeks. Our temp went from 78 degrees to 73 degrees and the bite has picked up very well.
It will just get better. Today I took some personal time and fished by myself, I have not done that in 6 months, I had a great day. My 1st fish of the day was a 8.5 lb bass caught on a swim jig. I boated 16 fish and had 7 overs and had another fish as big or bigger than the 8.5 it rolled at my swim jig and missed it. I am catching fish on swim jigs, topwaters, and swim baits. I love the fall feed up the fish know winter is on the way. Looking forward to a great fall and early winter bite.

10/02/17 WINDY, BUT STILL FUN!
I fished with my cousin, Sonnie (Cletis) Clayton of Lubbock on 10-2-17, and we caught 13
bass with the largest going 4 lbs. 1 oz. We had two other over 18 inches. It was a very windy
day on the lake, but we enjoyed ourselves. We lost some good fish on top water lures, and
had some hang us in the trees. Some we caught on crank baits.

09/12/17 CALM LAKE MAKES FOR HARD FISHIN'
I fished with Chuck Blodgett from Lubbock on 9-12-17. We caught 12 bass on worms and crank baits. Nothing of size to brag about. The lake was perfectly calm all day, which on Alan Henry makes for a very hard day of fishing.

09/12/17 EARLY SEPTEMBER FISHIN' TRIPS
On Labor Day weekend, Saturday 2nd, I fished with Terry Hicks and his 13 (14 now) daughter, Sailor on a 4 hour trip. We caught 11 bass on crank baits. This was Sailors birthday present. Sailor caught the largest bass.
On Monday, 9-4-17, I fished with Landon Stallings and his wife of 3 months from Hobbs, NM, Saranda. We caught 14 bass on crank baits, and Saranda caught the most.
On the night of 9-8-17, I fished with my brother, Boyd and my nephew, Ryan King. We started fishing just at dark, and we fished until about 3:30 am. We fished 7" and 10" worms. We caught 20 bass during a beautiful full moon.
On the night of 9-9-17 I fished with Mike McKaskle and his 14 years old son, Blaze. Blaze was one of the best fisherman that I have had in my boat. We caught 45 bass on 7" and 10" blue worms. We had nearly a full moon, and the coyotes were in full voice. Of all the bass we caught on these trips, around 3 lbs. was the largest. We caught several in that range, but we could not find larger. We had some good bass put us in the trees that we couldn't land.

08/23/17 FISH CAUGHT ON TOPWATERS, CRANKBAITS, & JIGS
So sorry folks I have not kept my fishing reports up to date. I have been very busy. On 8-11-17 I fished with Eric Garcia and his 3 children, on 8-14-17 I fished with Gavon Garcia with his 3 children, on 8-17-17 I fished with Charles Wheeler with his family. For 2 weeks I was minnow fishing with children we caught over 100 fish, I really couldn't keep track of how many. Most of these children had never caught fish before, it was a privilege and a blessing, not to mention the fun we had, and it was great to see the smiles on so many faces. On 8-23-17 I finally got to go fishing with artificial baits. I fished with Randy Pierce and his good friend Pete, we had a very good day. We boated 27 fish up to 4.5 lbs. We caught our fish on topwaters, crankbaits, and jigs. We lost 2 very strong fish in the thick cover. Looks like fall is hitting us really early this year. Our water temp went from 85 to 80 degrees and this has been the 2 wettest August in the history of our region. Can't wait for September and October. The bass are fixing to blow up. The topwater bite is going to be excellent, and I can't wait to break out my swim jigs. I have openings please give me a call and let's go fish'n. 08/12/17 CLOUDS & RAIN MAKE FOR GOOD TOP WATER BITE
I fished with Robert Malcom and his 13 years old son, Josiah, from Plainview. We had a
good top water bite since it was cloudy and rainy. We caught 11 bass on top water baits from
7:30 to 12 noon. Largest was 4 lbs. 4 ozs. Josiah is already a good bass fisherman, and will
become a really great fisherman because he has the desire to learn. We also lost several
fish that we could not get in the boat.
Also, today we laid to rest my fishing buddy, Reese McBroom. We have fished together for
many years. He was a great fishing partner and fisherman. May God rest his soul.

08/08/17 CATCHIN' BASS ON WORMS
I fished at night with Wendel Decker of Slaton on 8-8-17. It was a beautiful night with just enough wind to keep the bugs off. The coyotes were in nice voice. We caught 11 bass with Wendel catching the largest going 10 lbs. 7 ozs. I had two put me in the trees. We started fishing about 8:30 pm, and quit about 2:30 am. We caught all the bass on worms. 07/25/17 TOPWATER FISHING IS GREAT!
I fished with Andrew Lamming on 7-25-17 we had a very good day. We had a topwater bite that lasted for around 2.5 hours. Andrew caught his 1st fish ever on a topwater a 3 lb and 4 lb spot. We went to one of my spooning holes we had been there about 30 mins and I hooked into a Giant, after 4 or 5 mins I got the fish by the boat to bad so sad, it was a 12 to 14 lb carp did not put him in the boat, let him go. It was a fun ride. We caught over a dozen more fish on spoons even 8 keeper crappie that Andrew took home with him. After I took them to the dock at 2:00 PM I fished for about another 45 mins and picked up 4 more chunks nice fish. It was a real good day. 07/25/17 THE WATER IS CLEAR & FISH ARE BITING!
I fished Monday morning near the dam. I caught six small bass and three perch on small jigs. The water was very clear. I could see bass chasing my bait. It was a beautiful morning to be on the lake, only two other boats had launched at 6:30 a.m. The ski boats were showing up around 10:30 and it was over 80.
I did visit with a man who had spent the night fishing on the dock for catfish. He said the bite was good around 2:30 a.m. on liver.

07/20/17 FISH ARE BITING IN 35-42 FT. OF WATER!
On 7-12-17 I fished with Simon Dorough our day started off good on Simon's 1st cast he caught a fish. We were throwing lipless crankbaits on schooling fish with no wind. We ended up catching 1/2 dozen then finally the wind started blowing and I moved to mid lake, where the water was a clearer. I was using my electronics for about an hour and found a big school of biting fish in 35 to 42 ft of water and the wind was blowing about 15 mph. Game On!!! They started biting the spoon we caught 5 overs up to 5 lbs. We lost several strong fish that we could not dig out of the trees. All in All it was a good day, it took some searching and you had to know the spot on the spot.

06/23/17 THE BITE WAS GREAT!
On 6-23-17 I fished with Dan Britton and his son Andrew who is 10 yrs old, Andrew loves to fish. His dad is a trout angler from Colorado, they fish for trout all the time. They came to West Texas for a family reunion. Our day started out great Dan caught a 6 lb bass on a topwater. We ended up catching over 30 fish and had 10 overs and the bite was great. On 6-24-17 I fished with Richard Bryant and his wife and a bad cold front blew in with winds in excess of 25 mph. We did scratch out a few nice fish, then the water skiers took over the lake and we called it a day. I am catching my fish out of 20 to 35 ft of water on football head jigs, spoons, and few fish on square bill crankbaits. 06/12/17 GOOD DEEP WATER BITE & TOPWATER BITE IN THE EARLY MORNING
I fished on 6-12-17 with Sam Tindol and his 13 yr old son Hunter. Sam and his son Hunter have been fishing with me for 5 years. Time flies. Hunter was 8 yrs old when we started fishing together, he would rather fish than breath air. We caught 25 fish with a 3.5 lb, 4 lb and 5.5 lb bass that I caught on a football head jig, in 20 to 35 ft of water. I am catching my fish on jigs, spoons and topwaters. It was a great day and Hunter's 13th birthday. We had another 1/2 dozen fish that got off at the boat. Then on 6/15/17 I fished with Zach Angel of Big Springs. The fishing was bad, Zach had a large fish that he lost on a topwater. The night before there was a violent thunderstorm and the fish refused to bite. There is a good deep water bite and a good bite on topwaters early in the morning. I am fishing main lake points and secondary points. 6-7-17 I fished with Allen James and his 11 yr old grandson Kutter, this child has never been in a boat and had never caught a fish before in his life. Well that has all changed we lost track after number 25. I bought some large bass minnows and rigged them up drop shot style. Game On! Kutter caught the 1st and the most and had his rod yanked into the lake. It was a very large fish, we recovered the rod but the fish got away. This young man was a blessing to be around and never lost focus and the faster the boat went the more he liked it. It was a great day.
The fish are still biting topwaters, jigs and soft jerk baits. The best bite is in 20 to 35 ft of water. Hello Summertime, the fish have gone into their summertime pattern and are schooling up. On 5/24/17 I fished with Dale Robertson right after the cold front. The bite was slow and it was tough fishing conditions. I caught my personal best, a beautiful 14.2 lb out of 25 ft of water, on a very long cast. It was a ride and a half. She was spawning in 25 ft of water and my boat was sitting in 40 ft of water. This makes the second DD in less than 2 weeks, a 10.25 lb last week and a 14.02 lb this week. I caught her on the east end of the lake in the clear water. I am catching my fish on jigs and on soft jerkbaits from Optimum Baits. It is called a V Tail. I love their natural colors and this bait is 7" long and hand poured. It has the best action of any soft jerk bait that I have fished with. Big baits catch big fish.

05/19/17 20 BASS IN THE BOAT!
I fished with my nephew, Jack Tiffin of Earth, TX and my great nephew of Lubbock on
5-19-17. We had a good north east wind, but we managed to put 20 bass in the boat. We

05/19/17 OUR FISH SPAWN UNTIL JUNE
I fished with Ronald Bertrand 5-18-17, and Mike Marker and his son in law Lorenzon 5-19-17. In 2 days of fishing we boated 48 fish. This was during very high winds but still managed to scratch out 48 fish that were nice chunky fish from 2 to 4.5 lbs. Our biggest fish was a beautiful DD that weighted 10.25 that was caught on a EZ Skip/Swim jig. I'm catching my fish on swim jigs, shakey heads, the BOOM BOOM swim bait and top waters. Thank goodness there were no cold fronts and there was stable weather. If the wind would let us fish it would be lights out as far as big numbers! I am catching quality fish in 10 to 30 ft of water. We still have pre spawn, spawn and post spawn fish. The spawn is not over our fish spawn into June. I have openings for May and June please give me a call to book a trip. On 5/10/17 I fished with Billy Reynolds On 5/12/17 I fished with Dale Robertson before and during the cold front, it slowed the bite down but we caught a lot of chunky fish. Still catching fish that have not spawned yet. I'm catching my fish on Swim Jigs the new BOOM BOOM swim bait from Optimum baits this is a must have big fish bait. During 2 days of fishing put 30 fish in the boat with the biggest going 7.25 lbs. a post spawn fish. The top water bite is kicking in good. Our bluegill and perch are hitting the beds and the bass are taking revenge I am catching my fish from 5 ft to 25 ft. Water clarity is the key in the depth. 05/06/17 KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR BEAVERS ON LAKE ALAN HENRY!
I fished with Don Deville and his grandson, Logan of Snyder on 5-6-17. Even thought Logan
is 12 years old, he is an avid fisherman. He fished hard all day, and we managed to put 13
fish in the boat with the largest bass of the day getting off the lure right beside the boat.
Another great thing that happen was that we saw a beaver. The beaver was sitting on the
bank when Logan first spotted the animal, and the beaver slid in the water close to the boat
giving us a good look at its tail. The beaver then swam under the boat in really clear water
giving us another good look at it. It came back up to the edge of the bank again, and let us
have another good look. This is the first beaver that I have ever seem on Alan Henry. I have
seen a lot of beavers in east Texas on some of the big lakes. I use to catch a lot of bass
around beaver houses on Lake Fork.

05/08/17 OUR FISH ARE IN ALL 3 STAGES - PRESPAWN, SPAWN, & POST SPAWN
Fishing is very good at Lake Alan Henry our fish are in all 3 stages, pre spawn, spawn and post spawn. I'm catching a lot of 3 to 5 lb bass on swim jigs, shakey heads, sinkos and I have a new bait that I am fishing. I love this bait, it is called the BOOM BOOM Swim bait it is made by Optimum Baits give these good people a call at 1-951-676-6384 ext 4 and talk to Matt he is a great guy. The colors that I am catching my fish on are Blue Shad #513, Green Pumpkin #524, Ayu #521. Ghost Minnow #565, Ghost Rider #561 and Shad. These baits look alive in the water, they look like they belong in the lake. I have never fished a swim bait with this much action. It comes in a weedless model and an open water model. if you want to catch the big fish use this bait.
The Cold fronts and the High winds hurt us a little bit on numbers but now we are in full recovery. I have openings for May and June. May and June are going to be our best months as far as spawn and post spawn fish. Only 25% of our fish have spawned. Don't forget to go to Optimum baits website and look at the many quality baits they have to offer and give these good people a call.

4/20/17 AN AWESOME WEEK OF BASS FISHIN'!!
On 4-11-17 I fished with novice fishermen Tom Johnson and his 13 year old grandson,
Bennett. Bennett caught his first bass all by himself plus a few more. We caught 12 bass on
a very windy day. These two fishermen were great to be on the lake with. We did use some
minnows to be able to put some fish in the boat. Bennett also reeled in the fish I hooked.
On 4-15-17 I fished with Brandon Smith on a day there was not much wind. Fishing on LAH
is always better with at lease a little wind. We still managed to put 11 bass in the boat. The
bass were taking the worm really easy this day, and it was a very hard day to feel the fish
picking up the worm, and when you set the hook, the fish would not have the worm all the
way in their mouth.
O 4-19-17 I fished with Jerry Kohler of Houston who is going to Texas Tech, and his Dad in
Houston arranged this fishing trip for Jerry. We had a great day on the water with a little wind,
and we caught 20 fish all on shaky heads. The largest bass was a Spotted Bass that
weighted in at 3 lbs. 6 ozs.

04/12/17 WE HAVE PRE-SPAWN, SPAWING, & POST SPAWN FISH!
I fished with Will Masters on the 12th and I fished with Brian Foster on the 14th. The fishing was very good, in 2 days of fishing we boated 65 fish and 4 fish over 5 lbs and a lot of chunks. The water temp is 65 degrees and I'm catching my fish out of 15 to 20 ft of water. Jerk baits are very good, I'm catching fish on Swim jigs, Shakey heads and catching some big fish on large swim baits. I tried sight fishing and only caught 1 at 5lbs. The fish I am catching are pre spawn fish and full of eggs. Finally our weather stabilized and the spawn is starting to kick in. I have 2 days left in April and I am booking quickly for May. May is my favorite month during the spawning season, because we have pre spawn, spawning and post spawn fish. Our spawn is about 2 to 3 weeks late due to the past cold fronts. There are fish on beds but it has not reached full blown spawn.

I fished with Michael Haynes and Jimmy Saucier of Amarillo on 4-8-17. The was the day we
had 4 bass tournaments on the lake at the same time. Boats were every where, and the wind
was really blowing. We managed to put 10 fish in the boat with one quick release at the boat.

04/01/17 THE WIND WAS NO APRIL FOOL!
I fished with Norbert Cunningham of San Antonio, Erik Cunningham of Lubbock, and Duane

wind really blew all day which made a hard day of fishing. We managed to catch around 13

On the 20th of March I fished with Mark and Mike Mills, we had a good day. We boated 25 fish and Mike caught a Magnum Spotted Bass 5 lbs, we caught our fish on Shakey Heads, Swim Jigs and we blasted them on spoons. These were very talented fishermen and we had a great day. The fish we caught on spoons were in 25 to 35 ft of water. The water temp is 62 to 65 degrees, fish are moving up daily. 03/18/17 COLD FRONTS HIT THE BASS HARD THIS WEEK
I fish with Gary Barnes of Odessa and Rocky Barnes of Midland on 3-17-18-17. The two days we fished we did not tear them up but we managed to catch one good bass and another nice one. The cold fronts had come it, and it seems to hit the bass hard. We fished up one creek and didn't catch a single bass. Then we moved up in the shallow water of that same creek, and there were bass everywhere in the shallow water. We could see bass down to about 20 feet, and one nice catfish. 03/18/17 FISHING IS TOUGH BUT WE'RE STILL CATCHING!
This week was a hard week the cold front that hung around for 4 days lowered our water temp by 5 degrees. It made the fishing tough I fished on the 12th, 13th, 15th and the 17th our largest fish was 7.5 lbs and Friday on the 17th the fish recovered. I got into a huge school in 25 to 35 ft of water and blasted them. We caught them on shaky heads. Our largest fish was caught on a EZ Skip and Swim jig. Now our days are back up into the 80's and bright sky. The fish are back in pre spawn and everyday we will have fish moving up. April and May are going to be fantastic months. Our lake is in great shape and crystal clear in the dam area, clear mid lake and slightly stained on the West end. Will post again at the end of the week. We have openings for April and May. 03/06/17 THE FISH ARE IN FULL BLOWN PRE-SPAWN! I fished with Trevon Sprinkle and his dad on Sunday 3-5-17, the fishing was great I think we lost count after we caught 40 fish, with our biggest fish a heavy 9 lb Florida. We had a lot of overs, we caught our fish on jigs and bladed jigs. Water Temp is 57 degrees and the fish are in full blown pre spawn. Within the next 2 weeks they will be biting top waters, These were great guys and very good fishermen. We had a blast. 02/26/17 LAKE IS 96% FULL AND IN GREAT SHAPE!
Fishing on Lake Alan Henry is very good, on the West end our water temp is 55 to 56 degrees, this is the pre spawn temp. Mid lake the temp is at 52 degrees and in the dam area 50 degrees. The fish are biting crank baits, finesse jigs and the good ol swim jig. Lake is 96% full and in great shape.
I hope we don't get any heavy rains, I don't want the water to run over the spillway. Catching a lot of numbers and quality fish, our big fish are sitting in 20 to 25 ft of water. If our weather holds we will have an early spawn, this March on the full moon we will have fish on beds on the West end and pre spawn fish all over the lake. March, April, and May are big fish months. We are catching more Black bass than we have in 5 years, this is great. It won't be long until the double digits start showing up.

01/24/17 FISHING ON LAKE ALAN HENRY IS GREAT!
Fishing on Lake Alan Henry is great! Water temp is 47 to 50 degrees depending on which end of the lake you fish, We are catching our fish from 2 ft of water to 25 ft of water. We have had a very mild winter. We are catching quality fish and lots of overs from 8 lbs to 3 lbs. A five fish stringer between 12 and 18 lbs has become very regular. Our fish have not gone extremely deep this year nor have the bait fish. It has been one of the best winter bites that I have been on. The spotted bass are giant a 5 lbs spotted bass is not surprising at all. This year is going to be the best year for quality fish that I have seen in 5 years. The black bass are thriving once again. February and March our fish will be in pre spawn 55 degrees is the magic number we are not far away from that. Jigs have been outstanding and there is a very good spoon bite on the east end. When the weather turns nasty the fish seem to bite better but it is hard to hang in 30 to 50 mph winds.
Wherever the wind blows into the fish will be there. Watch your electronics if you can see the bait the fish are there, West end is stained and the fish are in anywhere from 5 to 20 ft, East end clarity is excellent the fish are in 10 to 30 ft,
on secondary points fish these and the channel bends.

12/14/16 GREAT CATCH ON LAH!!
11/06/16 THROW SWIM JIGS
Great news our lake has caught 3 ft of water in the last 30 days. Water temp is still 69 to 70 degrees and the fish are biting like crazy. On 11-4-16 I fished with my brother Danny we had a great day we boated over 30 fish in jigs topwaters and new bait that is on the market made by Lunker Lure, it's called a triple play. It is a spinnerbait turned into a umbrella rig.
You can catch 3 fish at the same time, it is a great bait. Danny and I caught every fish we caught in 2 to 10 ft of water.
The fish are feeding heavily and getting fat for the winter, which it does not look like winter will happen for a while.
The fish have gotten used to the changing weather and the rising water. There is a deep water bite and shallow water bite,
the shallow fish are bigger fish. I'm catching a lot of fish between 2 to 8 lbs. When you are topwater fishing the pattern in the pattern is to throw in the same spot multiple times. This makes the big fish mad and their exploding violently on the top waters. If you are going to throw jigs throw swim jigs.

through. It was a cool, gloomy day, but the bass cooperated some. We caught 23 fish with

10/25/16 FALL FISHING IS GREAT!!
I fished with Cole Thompson on 10-25-16 we had a very good day. We boated into the 20's here is the good thing, 50% of our fish were blacks and 50% of these fish were overs up to 4.5 lbs. We caught our fish on jigs and top waters We lost about 8 or 9 fish they ran straight at the boat. Fall fishing is great.
On 10-28-16 I fished in the afternoon with Dallas Stephens a very good friend of mine, I have known Dallas for over 30 years. We only boated 14 fish that makes for a great afternoon, we fished until dark. Again here is the good thing 50% blacks and 50% were overs. This coming week will be a very good week, we have a little cooler weather coming. The highs are supposed to be in the 70's and cloudy. The fishing will be great. I am on the best top water bite that I have been on in 6 years. This has been going on for the last 2.5 months. I can't wait to get back on the water. We only had one sad story this week, a very large fish kicked my butt. I have openings for next week don't wait let's go catching.

I fish with my brother, Boyd, on 10-21-16. It was one of those calm days when the fish would
not bite any thing in the shallow water. After backing off the shore line we started catching

10/20/16 NOT BAD FOR A COLD FRONT DAY!
I fished with Tommy James of Clovis New Mexico. He is a engineer with BNSF a Choo Choo train driver. He was transferred out to Texas from California. We fished during the cold front that was passing, in 20 to 25 mph winds, but the day turned out decent. I put the trolling motor down and we hunkered down and stayed in one spot. We only boated 16 fish but out of the 16 fish 10 of them were between 3 and 7.25 lbs. Not bad for a cold front day. It was a tough day of fishing the wind kicked our butt, had a blast fishing with Tommy can't wait to fish with him again. We caught 3 fish on topwaters and 13 on swim jigs. 09/30/16 THE EARLY MORNING WAS AS CALM AS A TABLE TOP...
I fished with Reese McBroom and John Mahaney on 9-30-16. We caught 17 bass on crank
baits, worms, and top water lures. The early morning was as calm as a table top, and the bite
was really slow. As the wind picked up in the afternoon, the fishing really picked up. The
largest bass was a 4 lb. 8 oz. Spotted Bass that fought like a Mack truck on the end of my
line. Really, really fun.

09/22/16 OCTOBER IS GOING TO BE UNBELIEVABLE!!
I bet you never thought that this would happen. Norman Clayton and I have become very good friends. He and I fished together September 22 out of my boat.
We had a great day, we boated 25 fish only 4 of our fish were under 18" We had 15 fish between 3 and 5 lbs with the biggest 8.5 lbs. that Norman caught. This was his biggest fish of the year, so far. We caught our fish on jigs and top waters.The fishing at Alan Henry just doesn't get any better. I have had an outstanding month and it is not over yet.
October is going to be an unbelieveable month. The fish have started moving up to shallower water. The water temp is 80 degrees and the lake is in great shape. Our Brim are in their 4th spawn of the year and our Shad are spawning also, and guess what our Black Bass had a double spawn this year. I am seeing fry in the water from 1" to 1.5" long. We caught fish with bloody tails. I've seen this happen the last 3 years in a row. The fish that we caught were 50% Blacks and 50% Spots. This is very good thing to see. I am catching my fish all over the lake.

I bet you never thought that this would happen. Norman Clayton and I have become very good friends. He and I fished together September 22 out of my boat.
We had a great day, we boated 25 fish only 4 of our fish were under 18" We had 15 fish between 3 and 5 lbs with the biggest 8.5 lbs. that Norman caught. This was his biggest fish of the year, so far. We caught our fish on jigs and top waters.The fishing at Alan Henry just doesn't get any better. I have had an outstanding month and it is not over yet.
October is going to be an unbelieveable month. The fish have started moving up to shallower water. The water temp is 80 degrees and the lake is in great shape. 09/03/16 TOP WATER FISHING..
I fished with Ross Ward. We had an excellent day. We boated over 30 fish, we had 15 fish over 18" with the biggest one going 4.5 lbs. This was one of the funnest fishing days I have had in a long time, reason being, we caught 90% of our fish on Top Waters. After I took Ross back to the dock my brother Danny and I went back out for the evening and boated another 15 nice fish. 45 fish in the boat out of the 45 fish we had 15 blacks.I am still catching fish on spoons, jigs and top waters. Water temp is 80 degrees and it looks like our fall fishing is already started. The topwater fish came out of 5 to 15 ft of water.

08/17/16 FULL MOON FISHING!
I fished with Bill Glass and his son Ryder at night on 8-17-16. We had a big full moon, and we caught 30 bass on 10" and 7" worms. Mostly it was a very calm night without much wind. We also got to see a big bobcat bring her 3 half grown kittens down to the waters edge for a
drink.

08/03/16 SUMMER FISHING IS GREAT!
I fished with Jason Cotton from Odessa. I hate to repeat myself, summer fishing is Grrreeaatt. We caught our fish on jigs and spoons in 25 to 50 ft of water. Jason has called me many times. Jason has never caught fish on spoons before, well he did today. Our total number of fish in the boat was 38. With many overs.
Jason fishes a lot of tournaments. Our 5 biggest fish would have weighed a total of 19 lbs. Jason caught the biggest, we took the photo of the fish and then released it and forgot to weigh it. The black bass that Jason is holding in the pic was around 5.5 to 6 lbs. We did not weight this one either we were on a good bite. This is the best summertime bite that I have been on for quality fish in a long time. The spotted bass are getting large and fun to catch and the blacks are in great shape.
The bigger fish were caught on jigs and we had many fish over the slot, our biggest spot of the day was 4 lbs.

07/31/16 FISHING NEAR THE DAM..
I fished with Jason Harrison on Saturday 7-30-2016. It was a great day we lost track of how many fish we actually caught,
at 12:00 I took Jason and his 3 sons back to the dock. Sorry I am getting old and can not remember the boys names.
My brother was fishing with our good friend Steve Downing in the dam area. I pulled up around them and decided to fish for a little longer. We got into a massive school of fish and caught fish until our arms hurt, I mean hurt. Before we knew it, it was 4:00 in the afternoon, we had a good 15 to 20 MPH south wind. The total for the day was around 125 fish, as I said we lost count. We caught our fish on spoons and jigs, I got lucky and caught my 3rd personal best Spotted Bass almost 5.5 lbs. A 5.5 lb spot is equal to a 10 lb large mouth bass.
Last November I caught a 5.98 lb spotted bass this year I will catch a 6 lb spot and have a replica made from it.
We caught a lot of overs, the bigger fish were caught on jigs so was the giant spot. We caught our fish in 25 to 45 ft of water. Fishing is absolutely great when the wind blows, for example on the 28th I fished with Kirk Salmon no wind the lake was like a mirror we caught 5 fish. The wind is your friend.

I fished with Michael Haines and Jimmy Saucier of Amarillo on the night of 7-29-16 without a
moon until around 4 a.m.. At that time we didn't have much moon, maybe a quarter moon.
We caught 20 bass on 10", 7" worms, and one on a jitterbug. We didn't get the big one we
were looking for, but we had a lot of fun. Again there were a lot of shooting stars and the
coyotes were howling a good part of the night. I sure beat the heat of the day time.

I fished with Weldon Kiker and 12 year old Collier Key on a night fishing trip on 7-22-16. It
was really nice to get out of the heat. We caught 13 bass on blue fleck 10 inch worms. It was
nice to hear the coyotes howling and see the shooting stars. On 7-27-16 I fished with Emily
and Tyson Rowin. We had a really bad night of catching bass, but the shooting stars were
great. All three of us spotted the same really bright shooting star at the same time.It's not
very often every one board sees the same star. We spotted raccoons, owls, and deer during
the night. Also, the lightning displace off in the distance was spectacular.

06/24/16 CATCHING PLENTY OF FISH BEFORE LUNCH TIME!
I fished with Darrell Kirkpatrick today 6-24-16. Today was an excellent fishing day we boated almost 50 fish from 7:00 am to 1:00 PM. With a lot of chunky healthy fish and many overs. We had a good South wind and caught our fish on Rattle Back spoons. We only started the big motor 1 time. We ignited a school and stayed on them. Water temp is 84 degrees and the lake is in great shape and the fish are biting like crazy.
I am doing 6 hour trips at a special summer time rate, so that we don't have to endure the heat, give me a call.

On June 17th which is my brother Danny's birthday. Danny, myself and our good friend Steve Downing always fish together on that day. Our day started out slow, we had only caught 5 fish with the biggest being a huge spot, between 3.5 and 4 lbs. We caught these fish on swim jigs. It was hot we were going to quit fishing around 12:00 and we got on a large school of fish in 30 to 50 ft of water, on Rattle Back spoons, it was an excellent bite.
We raised a whole school of fish with 50 to 75 fish in the school they came right up to the trolling motor. These fish were from 2 to 6 lbs. I'll make a long story short we caught fish until our arms hurt. Water temp is in the 80's and the fish are biting very well. We ended up catching 45 chunky fish. the summer time bite is on. Fish deep we caught fish in 50 ft of water on the bottom.

06/10/16 7" BLUE FLECKS WITH CHARTREUSE TAILS
I fished with Tammy and Michael Craig on 6-10-16, and we caught 21 bass on blue worms.
They were great to fish with. Sorry about this report being so late, but my wife had knee replacement surgery and I have been wife-sitting all this time. Tammy and Michael had fish on at the same time with the first two bass we caught. We were using 7" blue fleck worms with chartreuse tails.

06/07/16 FISHED GREAT FOR A CALM DAY
I fished with Rick Nunn of Lubbock on 6-7-16. We caught 33 bass up to 5 lbs. 8 ozs. on Texas rigged blue fleck worms, and on shaky heads with blue worms. We caught a few on drop shots with blue worms. We also had a 19 inch Spotted bass, and several around 17 inches long. The wind was calm, and this was one of the best calm days that I have had catching fish. Usually we do not do well on calm days.
